British Airways flight BA-4454 had to make an emergency landing at London City Airport, England, on February 17th.
The plane flying from Rotterdam, Netherlands, was descending toward London City Airport when the crew reported smell of smoke on-board and declared an emergency.
The plane continued for a safe landing. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
Air Astana flight KC-1392 had to make an emergency landing in Xiamen, China, on October 12th.
The Boeing 757-200 plane was performing a test flight when the crew noticed a landing gear issue.
The plane landed back uneventfully. All four crew members aboard remained safe.
Norwegian Air Shuttle flight DY-4314 made an emergency landing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on January 30th.
The Boeing 737-800 plane heading from Paris Orly Airport, France, to Stockholm, Sweden, was diverted after the crew received a cargo smoke indication.

EuroAtlantic Airways flight CD-417 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Frankfurt, Germany, on August 11th.
The Boeing 737-800 plane heading from Amsterdam, Netherlands, to Rhodes, Greece, had to be diverted after a fire in an oven caused smoke in the cabin.
The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.
Amakusa Airlines flight AHX-108 had to make an emergency landing in Amakusa, Japan, on October 13.
The de Havilland Dash 8-100 aircraft was approaching the airport when the crew received fire indication for right hand engine and declared emergency. The plane was flying from Fukuoka at the time.
The crew activated fire suppression system and shut down the engine before the plane safely landed. All 38 people aboard remained unharmed.
The cause of smoke is being investigated.
An Ethiopian Airlines’ Queen of Sheba, a Boeing 787 #ET-AOP which had been sitting empty for eight hours caught fire and shut down Heathrow Airport for an hour Friday. The fire seems to have started in the upper fuselage, far from the 787’s lithium-ion batteries. A battery fire would have been “contained by the new casing and…smoke would have been vented outside of the airplane.” Nearly a dozen fire trucks responded to the scene. The plane was parked on the apron taxiway E at Stand 592 next to a fire station.
#ET-AOP had arrived from Addis Ababa as flight ET700 at 06:30a.m. Departure was scheduled as ET701 to Addis Ababa at 21:10.
In photos, damage appears on the outside top of the upper fuselage near the vertical stabilizer, on the left side of the top of the airplane just in front of the tail. The fire was not caused by lithium-ion batteries, which are in in the cargo-bay.

NTSB Sends Investigator to Participate in Investigation of London Boeing 787 Dreamliner Fire
The National Transportation Safety Board has sent an investigator to assist in the investigation of a fire that occurred yesterday aboard a parked Boeing 787 Dreamliner at Heathrow Airport, London, England.
NTSB Senior Air Safety Investigator Lorenda Ward has been appointed as the traveling U.S. accredited representative. Ms. Ward will be accompanied by NTSB airplane systems investigators and representatives from the Federal Aviation Administration and Boeing.
The investigation is being conducted by the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) of the United Kingdom, which will release all information.
Hawaiian Airlines flight HA-21 made an emergency landing in Seattle, Washington, on July 24th.
The Airbus A330-200 plane took off for Honolulu, Hawaii, but had to return shortly afterwards after the crew reported an issue with windshield heating.
The plane landed uneventfully. No injuries were reported.
