    Southwest Airlines Plane Diverts to Missouri due to Loss of Cabin Pressure

    Southwest Airlines flight WN-2303 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Branson Airport, Taney County, Missouri, on May 27th.

    The Boeing 737-300 flying from Baltimore, Maryland, to Oklahoma, had to divert due to loss of cabin pressure.

    The plane landed safely.

    All 124 passengers and 5 crew members remained safe.

    Jet2 Plane Lands in Emergency at East Midlands Airport

    Jet2A Jet2 flight, on its way from Ibiza, made an emergency landing at East Midlands Airport, England, on the night of September 3.

    According to the airline, emergency landing was made after a “minor electrical fault” was discovered in the plane.

    The Boeing 737 landed safely and everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    A Jet2 spokesperson later said, “Following a safe arrival at East Midlands Airport of flight LS644 we decided to disembark passengers as quickly as possible as a precautionary safety measure because a minor electrical problem led to some smoke in the cabin….All passengers were looked after by our airport team and a full investigation is now under way. The safety of our passengers is of paramount importance.”

    The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) has launched an investigation following the incident. “The AAIB has deployed a team to investigate a serious incident to a commercial airliner that occurred at East Midlands Airport on the evening of Wednesday September 3,” AAIB statement said.

    Cabin Fumes Diverts Airbus to Daytona

    What: Spirit Airlines Airbus A319-100 en route from Chicago to Ft Lauderdale
    Where: Daytona Beach
    When: July 1 2009
    Who: 143 on board
    Why: When a burning smell filled the cockpit, the plane diverted to Daytona Beach. Passengers debarked normally; some individuals who experienced shortness of breath were taken to Halifax Medical Center.

    Passengers stated that the smoke was not visible but it made their eyes water, and smelled like rotten eggs.

    Pilot Killed after Small Plane Crashes in Wyoming

    A single-engine small plane crashed in Dubois, Wyoming, on November 5th.

    Authorities said the plane went down during take off from the Dubois Airport.

    The pilot, who was the only one aboard, was killed in the accident.

    The NTSB and the FAA are investigating.

    Austrian Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Vienna

    Austrian Airlines flight OS-687 had to return and make an emergency landing in Vienna, Austria, on August 4th.

    The plane took off for Minsk, Belarus, but had to turn back due to a defective cockpit indication.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
