Southwest Airlines flight WN-1932 encountered turbulence while descending towards Las Vegas, Nevada, on October 31st.
The Boeing 737-800 plane was flying from Seattle, Washington, when it ran into severe turbulence.
The plane continued for a safe landing.
Two crew members sustained minor injuries in the incident.
Egypt Air flight MS-621 had to divert and make an emergency in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt, on August 4th.
The Boeing 777-200 plane heading from Kuwait to Cairo, Egypt, was diverted after one of its engines stopped working.
The plane landed uneventfully. All 304 passengers aboard remained safe.
The passengers were accommodated in other flights.
Azul Linhas Aereas flight AD-2442 made an emergency landing in Londrina, Brazil, on January 16th.
The plane flying from Viracopos International Airport, Brazil, was descending toward Londrina when the crew needed to shut down one of the engines.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained safe.
What: Air India Boeing 747-400 en route from Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) to Mumbai

Who: 300 Passengers
Why: After takeoff, the crew could not retract the landing gear. Air Control told the crew to fly to Mumbai with the gear down.
The captain refused and returned to Riyadh for a safe landing. Then Air India grounded the captain and stopped his salary.
George’s Point of View
This captain is something of an unsung hero, but he was stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Even though the captain’s job was to ferry the plane, he refused to do so.
However, a ferry flight with gear down in night conditions is not permitted.
So he lost his job for doing the right thing.
What: US Airways 737 Flight 1801 en route from Charlotte
Where: Palm Beach International Airport
When: Wednesday night
Why: After reporting landing gear problems; the flight landed safely at about 12:45 a.m.
Indonesia AirAsia flight QZ-535 had to make an emergency landing in Perth, Australia, on October 15th.
The Airbus A320-200 plane took off for Denpasar, Indonesia, but had to turn back due to loss of cabin pressure.
The plane landed back safely. Everyone aboard remained uninjured.

Why: While en route, the flight experienced problems with its left engine which the crew had to shut down; and they requested an emergency diversion to Sacramento where it landed safely at 8:30 a.ml
Passengers were provided with alternative flights.
