    Why: On board the flight, a 2-month-old boy who stopped breathing on board could not be revived. A passenger attempted CPR and on the ground in Milwaukee paramedics also attempted CPR but the revival attempts were unsuccessful.

    AA Plane Diverts to Heathrow Airport with Cracked Windshield

    American AirlinesAmerican Airlines flight 199 had to make an emergency landing at Heathrow Airport, London, England, on November 28.

    The Boeing 767-300, en-route from Milan–Malpensa Airport, Italy, to John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, had to be diverted after its windshield shattered midair.

    The plane landed safely. There were 183 passengers and 12 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained unhurt.

    The airline accommodated passengers in other flights.

    The incident is being investigated.

    Kingfisher Bird strike at Guwahati

    Why: On takeoff, the Kingfisher flight suffered a bird strike on a wing. ATC declared an emergency and the plane landed safely. A maintenance inspection found traces of the bird strike. The flight was grounded for repairs

    AirAsia X Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Engine Issue

    AirAsia X flight D7-523 made an emergency landing at Naha Airport in Okinawa, Japan, on February 26th.

    The Airbus A330-300 plane heading from Tokyo, Japan, to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, was diverted after the crew needed to shut down one of the engines.

    The plane landed safely. All three hundred and sixty-nine passengers and ten crew members remained unharmed

    United Airlines Flight 2068 Returns to SFO due to Mechanical Problem

    new-united-logoUnited Airlines flight 2068 had to return and make an emergency landing in San Francisco due to a mechanical problem.

    The Seattle-bound flight took off from San Francisco International Airport at about 1:30 p.m. on May 23. Shortly after it took off, a mechanical problem was discovered in the plane.

    The Boeing 757 was then returned to San Francisco where it made an uneventful emergency landing at about 1:57 p.m.. No one was injured in the incident.

    Another plane was arranged to take the passengers to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

    Aeroflot London Takeoff Interrupted with Engine Down

    What: Aeroflot Airbus A320-200 en route from London to Moscow
    Where: London
    When: Nov 15th 2011
    Who: 108 passengers
    Why: On takeoff, the plane’s right engine developed problems.

    Pilots shut down the engine and returned to the airport to make a safe landing.

    Passengers were rebooked on flights outgoing on Nov 16.
