    Lufthansa Flight Diverts to Iceland

    LufthansaLufthansa flight LH-430 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Keflavik, Iceland, on December 10.

    The Boeing 747-800, en-route from Frankfurt, Germany, to Chicago, Illinois, was diverted due to reports of electrical odor in cabin.

    Qantas Airways flight QF-9 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Muscat, Oman, on March 25th.

    The Airbus A380-800 plane en-route from Melbourne, Australia, to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, was diverted due to bad weather conditions in Dubai.

    As the plane was on approach to Muscat, it was hit by a bird. The crew continued for a safe landing.

    Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    KLM Cityhopper Flight Returns to Amsterdam

    KLM CityhopperKLM Cityhopper flight KL-1155 made an emergency landing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on November 18th.

    The plane took off for Gothenburg, Sweden, but had to return shortly afterwards after the crew reported light smoke on board.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All passengers and crew members remained safe.

    The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

    Helicopter Crash-Lands on Long Island; No Injuries Reported

    A 2006 Robinson R22 Beta helicopter made a crash-landing near West Riviera Drive and West Alhambra Avenue in Lindenhurst, Long Island, New York, on January 27.

    The incident happened after the helicopter, carrying two people, lost power while returning to the Republic Airport. According to Frank Delia, of the Academy of Aviation, “It was a standard training flight…They were coming from the south practice area, which is off the south shore of Long Island, on their way back to Republic Airport after a successful training flight.”

    Both people aboard the aircraft, including the pilot Joseph Lombardo, 26, and his student Ming Chen, 26, remained uninjured.

    Alitalia Plane Diverts to Germany after Engine Issue

    AlitaliaAlitalia flight AZ-785 had to divert and make n emergency landing at Munich Airport, Germany, on June 17.

    The Boeing 777-200, flying from Tokyo, Japan, to Fiumicino, Italy, had to divert after the crew noticed an issue with one of its engines.
