    Ryanair Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Dublin

    Ryanair flight FR-161 made an emergency landing in Dublin, Ireland, on February 14.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane, heading to Copenhagen, Denmark, was forced to return due to a bird strike.

    The plane landed safely. All 171 passengers and 6 crew members remained unhurt.

    The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

    Ryanair Plane Returns to Edinburgh Airport with Blown Tire

    RyanairA Ryanair flight had to return and make an emergency landing at Edinburgh Airport, Scotland, on January 30.

    The plane was forced to turn back after one of the tires blew out upon take off. The flight was heading to Dublin at the time.

    The pilot safely landed the plane back about 10 minutes after take-off. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    According to an airline spokesperson, “The aircraft returned to Edinburgh and landed normally, and customers disembarked and were provided with refreshment vouchers…A Ryanair engineer was sent from Prestwick to replace the tyre and the aircraft will depart for Dublin shortly…Ryanair sincerely apologised to all those affected by the delay to their journey.”

    United Airlines Flight Diverts to Belfast After Passenger Demanded More Nuts

    United airlinesA United Airlines flight had to divert to Belfast International Airport in Northern Ireland, on the evening of June 20.

    The plane was on its way from Rome, Italy to Chicago when a 42-year-old passenger Jeremiah Mathis Thede asked for nuts or crackers. Authorities said he was given some nuts but he kept-on demanding for more and showed an erratic behavior. The pilot became concerned due to situation and decided to make an emergency landing.

    The plane landed safely and all 282 passengers were flown to Chicago next day.

    KLM Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Amsterdam

    KLM flight KL-1690 made an emergency landing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on January 15th.

    The plane flying from Zurich, Switzerland, was descending toward Amsterdam when the crew noticed a strange smell in the cabin and declared an emergency.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All seventy-seven people aboard remained safe.

    Hainan Airlines Flight Returns to Hefei after Indication of Smoke in Cargo Hold

    Hainan AirlinesHainan Airlines flight HU-7244 had to return and make an emergency landing at Hefei Xinqiao International Airport, China on the morning of July 8.

    The Boeing 737-800, heading to Guangzhou, had to be turned back after the crew received indication of smoke in the cargo hold.

    The plane landed safely and was evacuated through emergency slides.

    There were 162 passengers and 9 crew members aboard the plane; authorities said 8 of them sustained injuries during evacuation and were taken to hospitals.

    Civil Aviation Authority of China (CAAC) were investigating.
