    Twin-Engine Plane Crash-Lands in Kentucky; 4 Injured

    A small plane crash-landed near the runway of Georgetown-Scott County Airport, Georgetown, Kentucky, on the night of August 1.

    The the twin-engine Beechcraft King Air plane was attempting an emergency landing when it crash-landed. All 4 people aboard sustained injuries and were taken to hospitals.

    The injured were identified as the pilot Mark Conrad and his pasengers Ron Absher, Aaron Conrad and Jonathan Absher.

    The FAA is investigating.

    Crash in Nuevo Porvenir, 6 fatalities


    A Cessna 206 Stationair #XB-MSN or XB-MSI en route from Aeropuerto Internacional de Tapachula MMTP to Hermanos Serdán International Airport in Puebla crashed thirty minutes after takeoff near Nuevo Porvenir, Guatemala.

    The plane was not authorized to fly in Guatemala, and crashed near the border of Mexico. No homes, buildings or outbuildings were damaged. The plane crashed in a field.

    Neither the pilot nor any of the five passengers survived. Everyone aboard was apparently Mexican. Identification of the bodies will be by DNA. One description says all the young men aboard were corpulent.

    Locals heard the plane crash, but access to the scene is difficult, surrounded by trees ad crops in rural San Marcos, NW Guatemala. A radio broadcast by the mayor of Ixchiguán, Augusto Merida, said the small plane fell in Nuevo Porvenir. The plane is a total loss. One wallet was found with the name Eduardo Castillo Perez. Some luggage was also found. According to flight records:

    Volunteer Firefighters told local radio that the identification was based on documentation from Nuevo Porvenir.

    Authorities seized $2 million aboard the plane. The luggage contained a gun, jewelry and money in pesos and dollars.

    The investigation is underway.

    Pegasus “Sochi Olympics” Hijack Attempt


    On Feb 7 2014, on a Pegasus Airlines Boeing 737-86J en route from Kharkov to Istanbul, the 45-year-old passenger seated in “2F” hollered “BOMB!” threatened there was a bomb in the baggage compartment and wanted to hijack the plane to go to the Sochi Olympics. His attempt to enter the cockpit was foiled. When pilots entered Turkish airspace, they informed authorities.

    An F-16 Turkish military fighter jet was called to provide an escort.

    The flight landed in Istanbul (on the Asian side of the airport where Pegasus has its hub) where the Ukrainian man was taken into custody.

    There was no bomb. None of the 110 passengers were hurt.

    The passenger was just intoxicated.

    Four Dead in Passenger Plane Crash, Lyon

    A privately owned Cessna 421C Golden Eagle en route from Lyon Bron Airport to Aix-Les-Milles/Aix En Provence Airport took off then crashed near Lyon, France. The four passengers, one of whom ejected) died in the crash.



    The plane crashed in a field near the end of the runway. Fifty firefighters and sixteen vehicles, nvestigators from the RCMP Air Transport and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, responded to the scene. Four charred bodies were found in the plane, one without. Prefect Stéphane Rouvé and Lyon Prosecutor Marc Cinamonti visited the wreckage.

    The names of the passengers have not been released.

    Mexico Jet Crash kills Well-known Mexican DJ Antonio Dávila Campos


    A British Aerospace corporate jet operated by Líneas Aéreas Comerciales was on landing approach (Coumel Airport to Saltillo-Plan de Guadalupe International) when it was in an accident in Ramos Arzipe Mexico.

    The plane which was on a domestic in-Mexico flight, was destroyed, killing all eight aboard.

    The airplane crashed into an industrial park near Saltillo-Plan de Guadalupe International Airport in conditions of low visibility. It was foggy at 299 feet.

    The DJ Antonio Dávila Campos died in the crash, as well as his wife and son, Irma Lopez Coss; his son Alejandro Dávila López, 10, the pilot Alfonso Andrés Remond Ebergenyi, copilot, Israel Cabrera Hernández, 33; Marta Elena de Loera; her husband Daniel Loera and Paulina Fascio, private secretary of Lourdes Naranjo, wife of Isidro Lopez Villarreal, Mayor of Saltillo.

    The parties were returning from a Cozumel vacation on a jet belonging to businessman Armando Guadiana.

    Minutes after the crash, rescue services responded to the scene at intersection of Industrial Automotive and Industrial Metalworking Industrial Park.

    The plane exploded on impact with the ground and caught power poles afire, but the fire was quickly contained by the fast response of firefighters. Everyone aboard died on impact. The black box was recovered .

    Rans Crash in Leicestershire

    On July 14, 2013, a privately owned Rans S-6 en route from an airfield near Tywcross Zoo to Stoke Golding airfield crashed in Fenn Lane, Fenny Drayton, Leicestershire with two aboard.

    The Rans plane crashed in a field in Leicestershire. Witnesses heard a bang from the aircraft, the engine quit. The plane glided along, banked right and left, then crashed.

    The plane was located at Fenny Drayton at about 18:45 BST on Sunday. The man and woman aboard were confirmed dead at the scene, found by emergency responders.

    The Air Accident Investigations Branch is investigating.

    The fatalities were informally identified as Bob and Olive.
