    2 Killed as Gyroplane Crashed into Colorado River

    SeaA two-seater Xenon Gyroplane crashed into a river near Loma in western Colorado, shortly after 6 p.m. on October 4.

    The yellow colored helicopter went down after it took off from the Grand Junction Airport with 2 people aboard.

    Mesa County chief deputy coroner Victor Yahn confirmed that both people aboard the helicopter died in the crash. They were identified as Mark Shook, 61, of Peyton, Colorado, and Rebecca Jane Molle, 50, of Grand Junction, Colorado.

    The FAA and the NTSB are investigating the cause of crash.

    Sky Gates Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Belgium

    Sky Gates Airlines flight U3-9868 made an emergency landing in Liege, Belgium, on November 5th.

    The Boeing 747-400 plane heading from Novosibirsk, Russia, to Maastricht, Netherlands, was diverted after the crew noticed an issue with the flaps.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    Dubai-Bound Emirates Plane Returns to California

    EmiratesEmirates flight EK-216 had to return and make an emergency landing at Los Angeles International Airport, Los Angeles, California, on December 30.

    The Airbus A380-800, en-route to Dubai, UAE, had to return after its landing gear failed to retract.

    The plane landed safely.

    No one was injured.

    Asiana Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Seattle

    Asiana Airlines flight OZ-271 had to return and make an emergency landing in Seattle, Washington, on October 29th.

    The Boeing 777-200 plane took off for Seoul, South Korea, but had to return due to an issue with the weather radar.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Pilot Killed after Small Plane Crashes in Alaska

    A small plane crashed near the town of Butte in Alaska, on October 29th.

    Authorities said the Cessna 172 plane crashed into a Knik River gravel bar.

    The pilot, who was the only one aboard, was killed in the crash. He was identified as 25-year-old Ray Justen.

    According to Alaska National Transportation Safety Board chief Clint Johnson, “Witnesses said this airplane came in, made a touch-and-go on a gravel bar and during a fairly steep climb out there was an aerodynamic stall…The airplane descended nose-first and struck the gravel bar.”

    Single-Engine Plane Makes Emergency Landing on La Quinta Golf Course

    A small plane made an emergency landing on a golf course at 80200 block of Via Valerosa, La Quinta, California, on April 17.

    Authorities said the single-engine Piper aircraft flipped over during landing.

    According to a press release issued by the sheriff’s department, “It appears the plane experienced mechanical failure causing the pilot to conduct an emergency landing on the golf course… The pilot was the only occupant inside the plane and no one was injured during this incident.”

    The FAA is investigating the incident.
