    EasyJet Flight Returns to Copenhagen due to Bird Strike

    EasyJet flight U2-1986 had to return and make an emergency landing in Copenhagen, Denmark, on June 13th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane took off for Manchester, England, but had to turn back after the crew needed to shut down one of the engines due to a bird strike.

    LATAM Airlines flight LA-841 had to return and make an emergency landing in Santiago, Chile, on January 19th.

    The Boeing 787-900 plane took off for Easter Island, Chile, but had to turn back due to issues with the cabin pressure.

    Jet2 Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Leeds Bradford Airport

    A Jet2 flight had to make an emergency landing at Leeds Bradford Airport in England, United Kingdom, on April 5th.

    The plane was coming from Larnaca, Cyprus, when the crew requested emergency assistance due to a landing gear issue.

    The plane landed safely. All 111 passengers remained unharmed.

    Allegiant Plane Diverts to Tennessee due to Sensor Malfunction

    Allegiant flight G4-676 had to divert and make an emergency landing at McGhee Tyson Airport, Tennessee, on April 30th.

    The McDonnell Douglas MD-83 flying from Orlando Sanford, Florida, to Flint, Michigan, had to divert due to a sensor malfunction.

    The plane landed safely.

    All 150 passengers and 6 crew members remained unhurt.

    Pilot Killed as Small Plane Crashes in Iowa

    A small plane crashed in the median of Interstate 29, north of downtown Council Bluffs, Iowa, on December 10.

    The Piper Malibu Meridian single-engine plane had just taken off from Eppley Airfield when it started experiencing some issues. Authorities said the pilot radioed to the airport and sought permission to return for an emergency landing, however, the plane clipped a power line and went down.

    The pilot, who was the only one aboard, was killed in the crash. He was identified as John Rogers, 65, of Omaha.

    The FAA and the NTSB are investigating.

    What: US Airways Airbus A319-100 flight 1238 registration N762US en route from Raleigh-Durham International Airport to Philadelphia
    Where: Raleigh-Durham International Airport
    When: Thursday Jan 22
    Why: The Airbus experienced a hydraulic problem just 6 minutes into the flight. The plane safely touched down back at Raleigh-Durham about fifteen minutes after it took off.
