Why: The Cessna’s pilot made an emergency landing when the plane experienced emergency problems. Rescue crews found the stranded pilot and passenger and flew them by helicopter to Elliot; the passenger was taken to Elliot Health clinic with a facial cut. The pilot was uninjured.

Aeroflot Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Hydraulic Issue
Aeroflot flight SU-34 made an emergency landing in St. Petersburg, Russia, on January 10th.The Airbus A321-200 plane flying from Moscow, Russia, was descending toward St. Petersburg when the crew reported a hydraulic issue.
The plane subsequently landed safely. All one hundred and ten people aboard remained unharmed.
BA Flight Returns to London Heathrow Airport
British Airways flight BA49 had to return and make an emergency landing at London Heathrow airport, England, on March 6.The plane was en-route to Seattle when the pilot reported a fault in cabin’s oxygen supply system. According to an airline spokesperson, “The aircraft is returning to Heathrow Airport as a precaution due to a suspected technical problem. Our pilots are highly trained to deal with these scenarios.”
The plane dumped fuel over the Irish Sea before it landed uneventfully. None of the 218 passengers and 14 crew members was harmed.
A replacement aircraft was arranged for the passengers.
Malaysia Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Australia
Malaysia Airlines flight MH-122 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Alice Springs Airport, Australia, on January 18th.The Airbus A330-300 plane heading from Sydney, Australia, to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, was diverted after the crew needed to shut down one the engines.
The plane landed safely. All two hundred and fifty-five people aboard remained unharmed.

Why: On approach to Rio, a passenger began feeling unwell. On debarking, she passed out in the jet bridge. By the time the ambulance arrived 25 minutes later, she was pronounced dead at the scene.Doctors say that she suffered “economy class syndrome”, actually known as Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), an event which creates blood clots in the lower veins of the legs.
A substantial amount of money and several credit cards disappeared the passenger’s purse, according to relatives.
