What: American Airlines MD-80 plane flight 2076 headed from El Paso to Dallas
Where: Abilene Regional Airport
When: The in-flight emergency was discovered about 20 miles away from Abilene
Who: 61 people were on board the plane, including three crew members.
Why: When a warning light flared up signaling a possible generator issue, and the flight then landed safely at Abilene. Passengers were provided water and snacks at the terminal, and the plane departed at 12:45 p.m. to continue the flight.

Why: Over France, the Tunisian flight was met and escorted to Orly by French Fighters. Then there’s a discrepancy: Tunis Air says they were in contact with Air Traffic Control the entire time, but the airport, apparently did not get a response on the radio, which brought in the “big guns.” Or to be exact, “There was a concern for communication, the aircraft was flying a little low and not responding to radio, the alert was triggered.” The incident was called a “miscommunication.” Air Tunis was taken completely by surprise.George’s Point of View

Nippon Airways Boeing Loses AC and Cabin Pressure

When: Thursday August 27
Who: 262 passengers and 8 crew
Why: The left hand air conditioning system failed shortly after takeoff. Then, while en route, cabin pressure dropped. At that point, oxygen masks deployed; the pilot descended 10,000 feet to normalize pressure and flew the last 45 minutes of the flight. Though some passengers felt ill, there were no injuries, and the plane landed normally.George’s Point of View
That must have been a fun, white-knuckled flight, leaving terror-induced claw marks etched into the armrests.
American Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing in New York after Lightning Strike
American Airlines flight AA-4233 had to divert and make an emergency landing at John. F. Kennedy Airport, New York, on March 17.The Embraer ERJ-175, en-route from Raleigh, North Carolina to La Guardia Airport, NY was struck by lightning, due to which the crew diverted for a safe landing.
The plane landed safely.
All 55 passengers and 4 crew members onboard remained unhurt.

Why: On landing, the nose gear of the plane struck an aardvark on the runway, damaging the nose gear. There’s no indication of the aardvark’s condition.

Why: After takeoff, the plane could not fully retract the landing gear . As a result, the flight circled Houston attempting a fix, with the right hand main gear door open until they landed safely an hour after taking off. Passengers were booked on alternative flights.
