JetBlue Flight 597 Diverts to Minot due to Electrical Odor
JetBlue flight 597 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Minot, North Dakota, due to electrical odor.
The plane was en route from Boston to Seattle on June 18, when the pilot reported an electrical odor and requested to make an emergency landing. The Airbus A320-200 was then diverted to Minot International Airport, where it made a safe emergency landing at about 9:50 a.m. All 126 passengers aboard remained unharmed.
The JetBlue maintenance technicians examined and cleared the plane. After about 4:15 hours, the plane was able to continue its journey towards Seattle where it landed with a delay of 4.5 hours from its scheduled time.
JetBlue Flight Makes Safe Landing After Bird Strike
JetBlue flight B6-1704 made a safe landing following a bird strike in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on March 1st.
The Embraer ERJ-190 plane flying from Cartagena, Colombia, was on final approach to Fort Lauderdale when a bird hit it.
The plane continued for a safe landing. Everyone aboard remained safe.
Air Transat Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Montreal
An Air Transat flight had to make an emergency landing in Montreal, Canada, on October 22.
The plane was en-route from Toronto, Canada to London, U.K. when its back door unsealed mid-air. According to a passenger Rachel Weissfeld, “The change in altitude…it was so fast that there were people who were in a lot of pain, like their ears were hurting, people were crying due to the pain, it was really awful.”
The plane landed safely.
The passengers were asked to remain seated and the airline served complimentary food and drinks.
The plane resumed the journey after some time.
Air New Zealand Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Singapore
Air New Zealand flight NZ-281 made an emergency landing in Singapore, on June 15th.
The Boeing 787-900 plane took off for Auckland, New Zealand, but had to turn back due to an engine oil problem.
The plane landed back safely. All two hundred and two passengers aboard remained unharmed.
JetBlue Airbus makes Safe Landing in Florida
JetBlue flight B6-921 made a safe landing at Palm Beach International Airport, West Palm Beach, Florida, on February 16.
The Airbus A320-200 was on its final approach to the runway when the crew had to inspect the landing gear, allowing the plane for a slow landing.
The plane landed safely.
All 157 people aboard remained safe.
United Flight to Mexico Diverts to Tampa

Why: The DC-Cancun flight was over the Atlantic when it diverted to Tampa. Pilots informed ATC when smoke appeared in the cabin. They made a save landing.
Emergency services were on standby on arrival in Tampa. Passengers were evacuated on landing. No injuries were reported.
Mechanics took on examining the plane. Passengers were provided an alternative flight.
