    Turbulence Injures 3 over Salt Lake

    What: Skywest Canadair CRJ-200 en route from Helena,MT to Salt Lake City,UT
    Where: Grand Junction,CO
    When: Feb 16th 2011
    Who: 32 passengers
    Why: On approach to Salt Lake City, the plane encountered turbulence. The pilot diverted to Grand Junction, where they landed an hour later. Three individuals were injured, and treated by paramedics.

    Cessna on Training Flight Crashes in Alaska

    A Cessna Caravan crashed and burned near Bethel, Alaska with two pilots aboard and no passengers. Derrick Cedars and Greggory McGee were confirmed as pilots. The plane operated by Hageland Aviation flew out of Bethel airport, and crashed at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Troopers aboard a National Guard Blackhawk confirmed the crash with an aerial overview of the large debris field and burning wreckage.

    Tuesday evening, rescuers were aboard a helicopter that flew to Three Step Mountain to the wreckage, perhaps recover the remains. The NTSB is investigating.

    Hageland had five crashes since 2003.

    The Cessna had 2 Pratt & Whitney Canada engines.

    Small Plane Crash in Arizona Kills Family of Four

    A small plane crashed near Payson in Gila County, Arizona, on January 3rd.

    The single-engine Cessna 210 plane was heading from Scottsdale, Arizona, to Telluride, Colorado, when it went down.

    The plane was carrying four members of a family at the time; all of them were killed in the crash.

    The cause of crash is being investigated.

    Southwest Airlines Diverts due to Flaps Flops

    On July 23, 2013, a Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-300 en route from Kansas City to Indianapolis developed a problem with the flaps.

    Pilots diverted back to Kansas City and made an emergency landing. (See flight path below)

    None of the 54 aboard suffered injury.

    The flight eventually took off and arrived in Indianapolis at 1 a.m. with no indication if this was the same or a different jet.

    Southwest Airlines Flight Suffers Bird Strike Near BWI Airport

    Southwest Airlines flight WN-3095 suffered a bird strike near Baltimore, Maryland, on March 17th.

    The Boeing 737-700 plane flying from Norfolk, Virginia, was on final approach to Baltimore–Washington International Airport when it hit a flock of geese.

    The plane continued for a safe landing. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    Private Cessna Blows Up Over Veracruz

    What: Cessna 210G Centurion #N5894FN en route from Puebla to Villahermosa, Tabasco.
    Where: Veracruz Mexico
    When: October 23, 2011, 10.00 local tim
    Who: 2 fatalities
    Why: Over the town of Angel R. Cabada, the plane was flying in a westerly direction, made a turn and then exploded in the air. Documents found on the bodies belong to a married couple, Reggie and Andrea Henkart . The occupants were employees of U.S. company Agfa Phoenix.

    Rescue services responded to the call but there was not much they could do for the victims but secure the scene.

    There was a slight rain at the time of the event, and the location is one that is difficult to access in a sugar cane field and tropical rainforest. The two aboard were Americans.
