    Small Plane Crashed in Orleans County, New York

    A small plane crashed in a wooded area in Gaines, Orleans County, New York, on August 23rd.

    The plane had just taken off from Gaines Valley Aviation Airport when it experienced a mechanical problem and went down.

    The pilot, Earl Luce Jr., 64, of Brockport, was the only one aboard. He remained uninjured.

    United Airlines Flight Makes Two Emergency Landings in Kansas City

    United airlinesUnited Airlines Flight 594 had to make two emergency landings at Kansas City International Airport, Kansas City, Missouri, on May 26.

    The flight originated from Washington, D.C. and was heading to Denver, Colorado, when it was diverted to Kansas City due to weather radar issues aboard the Airbus A-320 aircraft. The plane landed safely and all 142 passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    The plane was taken for repair and was cleared to take off again around 3 hours later. However, it had to return and make another emergency landing due to hydraulic issues.

    The aircraft was grounded while the airline provided meal and hotel vouchers to the passengers and accommodated them in other flights.

    Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing at Golf Course

    A Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office helicopter made an emergency landing at Windsor Parke Golf Club in Jacksonville, Florida, on March 18th.

    The Sheriff’s Office confirmed that no one was injured in the incident.

    The cause of emergency landing is not clear at the moment.

    The helicopter was later towed from the scene.

    Jet Blue Nose Gear went Belly Up at JFK

    What: Jetblue Embraer ERJ-190 en route from Austin,TX to New York JFK,NY
    Where: JFK,NY runway 22L diverted to runway 31L
    When: May 7th 2009
    Who: 80 people on board
    Why: After a missed approach, the Jet Blue crew announced a “little issue.” THe little issue turned out to be a nose gear steering fault. The plane landed safely under emergency status; no one was injured. And the plane did require a tow after landing.

    This plane–unlike several others at the same time frame at JFK–did NOT incur a bird strike.

    Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing at Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport

    An 8-passenger plane made an emergency landing at Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport, Virginia, on November 2nd.

    The Cessna 550 plane flying from Teterboro, New Jersey, to Meridian, Mississippi, was diverted after it lost oil pressure in one of the engines, causing a loss of cabin pressure.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    United Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Colorado after Electrical Situation

    United Airlines flight UA-859 made a safe emergency landing at Denver International Airport, Denver, Colorado, on May 1st.

    The Boeing 737-900 flying from Orlando, Florida, was about to land when the crew had to declare an emergency due to “electrical situation” aboard.

    The plane landed safely.

    All 185 people aboard remained unhurt.
