    Delta Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing at Seattle–Tacoma International Airport

    250px-Delta_logo.svgDelta Airlines flight 17 had to make an emergency landing at Seattle–Tacoma International Airport, Washington, on October 26th.

    The plane took off for Hong Kong, China, but had to turn back after an indicator light went off.

    The plane landed safely at Sea-Tac Airport where the fire trucks hosed down the brakes with water.

    Everyone aboard remained safe.

    It sounds bad, but really it means that Jackson-Evers International Airport is a real port in the storm. All these diversions and no disasters. Good Job, Jackson-Evers

    • Continental flight en route to New York’s LaGuardia airport flew in with engine trouble.
    • Six were out of the Little Rock, Arkansas airport where there was a problem with runway lights.
    • Several flights were diverted to Jackson from Tulsa, Oklahoma due to weather.

    Where: in a field adjacent to West Lake Road, which is near the airport
    When: FEBRUARY 8, 2009
    Who: pilot, William C. Anderson
    Why: On liftoff, one of the engines lost power.The pilot attempted to land on the runway but was unsuccessful and had to land in a nearby field

    Small Plane Ran Out of Fuel, Crashed near Port Alsworth

    A small plane crashed some 20 miles northwest of Port Alsworth, Alaska, on May 26.

    The plane was en-route to Port Alsworth when it ran out of fuel and went down. Alaska State Troopers located it Tuesday night through a personal locator beacon.

    There were 3 people aboard, including the pilot Mark McNeill, 61, and his passengers Rocky McElveen, 64 and Talon Heying, 24. All of them remained uninjured.

    Air France Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Rio de Janeiro

    Air France flight AF-443 had to return and make an emergency landing in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on April 14th.

    The Boeing 777-300 plane took off for Charles de Gaulle Airport, France, but had to turn back after the crew reported issues with the weather radar.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All passengers and crew members remained safe.

    Athens: Another EgyptAir With Engine Trouble

    What: Egypt Air Boeing 737-800 en route from Cairo to Berlin
    Where: Athens
    When: Jan 1st 2010
    Who: 100 passengers
    Why: While on route, the left engine developed a problem. The pilot shut down the engine, and diverted to Athens where it made a safe landing. Alternative transport to Berlin was provided.
