    Southwest Airlines Plane Diverts to Illinois due to Engine Failure

    Southwest Airlines flight WN-1914 had to divert and make an emergency landing at O’Hare International Airport, Illinois, on June 12th.

    The Boeing 737-700 flying from Chicago, Illinois, to Connecticut, had to divert due to engine failure.

    The plane landed safely.

    What: Mi-2 Plus ambulance helicopter operated by Polish Medical Air Rescue (registration SP-SXF) en route to the scene of an accident near the southwestern town of Budziszow
    Where: Jarostów Poland
    When: 17-FEB-2009 7:50am
    Who: Pilot and medical assistant were killed, while the doctor was taken to a Wroclaw hospital for treatment.
    Why: A rescue team of the pilot, a doctor and a medical assistant were flying a rescue mission to a traffic accident at theA-4 freeway to assist a pregnant woman who had crashed in (car) traffic in foggy conditions. The helicopter hit the ground 20 km from their destination and 50 km west of Wroclaw. Visibility was poor and it was snowing.The cause of the helicopter crash is under investigation.

    Batavia Lands Flat in Pekanbaru

    What: Batavia Boeing 737-400 en route from Jakarta to Pekanbaru
    Where: Pekanbaru Airport
    When: Aug 15 2011
    Why: On landing at Pekanbaru, the plane blew out its tires.

    Hard landing? Fast landing? We do not know. We do know the plane had to be towed off the runway. Injuries were not reported.

    Southwest Airlines Plane Diverts to Missouri due to Loss of Cabin Pressure

    Southwest Airlines flight WN-2303 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Branson Airport, Taney County, Missouri, on May 27th.

    The Boeing 737-300 flying from Baltimore, Maryland, to Oklahoma, had to divert due to loss of cabin pressure.

    The plane landed safely.

    All 124 passengers and 5 crew members remained safe.

    Delta Flaps Flap in Fast Prague Landing

    What: Delta Airlines Boeing 767-300 en route from New York JFK,NY (USA) to Prague
    Where: Prague
    When: Jan 14th 2012
    Why: On approach to Prague, the plane developed a flaps problem. Pilots could not correct the problem, and aborted the landing. Still unable to correct, the flight made a fast landing with emergency services on standby.

    Apparently the problem was fixed, as the plane only was an hour late on its return flight.
