Three Lost in Paraguay Crash

Where: Chaco Boreal, Paraguay

Who: 3 aboard, 3 fatalities
Why: When the Asunción Department of Search and Rescue received a Com satellite alert that a plane fell out of the sky, they sent a National Police helicopter to locate the wreckage. No fire, explosion or fuel was found at the crash site, so respondents speculate that the plane ran out of fuel.

Three people were killed when the small plane they were in fell in Chaco Boreal, Paraguay. Pilot José Bobadilla was reported to be an experienced pilot.

Germán Ruiz, the owner of the Rural Association confirmed that the fatalities were José Bobadilla, Ricardo Serrati and Luis Griffith. The plane’s owner was Miguel Zavala.

The bodies of Bobadilla, Serrati and Griffith were picked up by Air Force Helicopter and transported to Asunción.

    Cessna Crash Kills Hunter, Pilot

    A Cessna U206F Stationair owned/operated by Wilderness Aircraft I LLC went missing east of Donnelly, Idaho while en route from McCall Municipal Airport and the Salmon River Basin. Three planes had been making the 12 minute flight but only two made it to the destination. The Idaho Army National Guard helicopter who were searching in an inaccessible area cancelled due to bad weather and mountain snow. The search resumed on Thursday when the wreckage was found on the side of a steep mountain.

    The pilot and two passengers were going to the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness.

    Hikers to the wreckage discovered that pilot Dan Wilson and passengers Steve Hall and Mike Wolf had not survived the crash. It took rescue workers two hours to hike to the wreckage 7,800 feet up the mountain.

    The NTSB will be investigating.

    Helicopter Crashes in Siberia; 18 Dead

    A helicopter crashed in north-western Siberia, Russia, on August 4th.

    It is believed that the Mi-8 helicopter was transporting workers of an oil company when it went down.

    All fifteen passengers and three crew members aboard were killed in the crash.

    Small Plane Crash-Lands at Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport

    A small plane crash-landed at Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport in Jefferson County, Colorado, on September 1st.

    Authorities said the pilot of the Cessna 210 plane radioed about a possible belly landing due to a landing gear malfunction.

    There were two people aboard, including the pilot and a passenger; both of them remained unharmed.

    Australian Cessna Crash Kills Two Local Celebrities


    On March 25, a Cessna T210N Turbo Centurion crashed at 5:30 a.m. in a paddock two miles from Roma Airport, Queensland. Two people were aboard, bull rider John Quintana, and the national head of Ray White’s Livestock business, Charlie Maher, both of whom died on the scene. On impact, an emergency beacon activated.

    There was a 500 meter debris field. Rescue Co-ordination Centre in Canberra alerted police. Fire crews were called and Careflight but no one survived the crash.

    The Australian Transport Safety Bureau is investigating the crash site at Hartley Lane in Orange Hill to begin their investigation.

    The ATSB is investigating a fatal aircraft accident involving a Cessna T210N that occurred on 25 March 2013 near Roma, Queensland.
    Soon after takeoff, the aircraft collided with terrain. The two occupants died in the accident and the aircraft was destroyed.

    A team of four investigators will arrive at the accident site tonight to begin the on-site investigation.

    The team comprises experts in engineering, materials failure and aircraft operations.

    While onsite, the team will be:

    • examining and photographing the wreckage and any ground scars
    • interviewing witnesses
    • examining aircraft documents.

    The team is expected to be onsite for around four days.

    Military Plane Crashed in Egypt; 6 Killed, 1 injured

    An armed forces reconnaissance aircraft crashed near an airport in Fayoum, Egypt, on September 21.

    The authorities said that the accident happened due to technical malfunction.

    According to Army Spokesman Mohamed Samir, 6 people were killed in the crash while one was seriously injured.

    Minister of Defence, Sedki Sobhi, ordered the formation of an investigation committee to determine the cause of the crash.

    Unidentified Body Discovered


    Remains of some poor soul were discovered on the banks of the Dordogne River ten kilometers from where the helicopter crash killed Hong Kong tycoon Kok Lam. The body has not been identified yet. Due to its condition after being in the water, the id will have to be found through DNA testing. The remains of 12-year-old son Kok Shun-yu, son of Kok Lam, were found indie the Robinson R44 a day after the helicopter crashed.

    The body found in the river may be a person missing since April, which might explain the extent of the damage of the remains.

    Kok Lam was owner of the Hong Kong based Brilliant group, which runs upmarket hotels and other properties, including the newly purchased Château de la Riviere.
