    AA Plane Catches Fire at O’Hare International Airport; 8 Injured

    American EagleAmerican Airlines flight AA-383 had to reject take off from O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, Illinois, on October 28th.

    The Boeing 767-300 plane was accelerating to take off for Miami, Florida, when it caught fire, prompting the crew to reject take off.

    The passengers were evacuated through slides. Eight people, including 7 passengers and 1 crew member, were injured and were taken to hospitals.

    It is believed that the fire sparked after failure of right hand engine.

    China Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Japan

    China Airlines flight CI-113 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Fukuoka, Japan, on August 15th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane heading from Hiroshima, Japan, to Taipei, Taiwan, was diverted due to problems with an engine generator.

    The plane landed safely.

    All one hundred and thirty-four people aboard remained unharmed.

    Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Dallas

    A small plane made an emergency landing in Dallas, Texas, on February 11th.

    Authorities said the pilot reported engine issues before the plane landed in a field near South Lancaster Road and Loop 12 in southeast Oak Cliff.

    There were 2 people aboard at the time; both of them remained uninjured.

    The plane was flying from Dallas Executive Airport at the time.

    Engine Shut down on Tenerife-Moscow Flight Which Diverts to Frankfurt

    What: Air Bashkortostan/VIM Airlines Boeing 757-200 en route from Tenerife to Moscow
    Where: Frankfurt
    When: Mar 10th 2012
    Why: When the flight was en route over Paris, the flight developed engine problems.

    Pilots shut down the affected engine, and diverted to Frankfurt Germany where they made a safe landing.

    Air Bashkortostan/VIM Airlines used the layover in Germany to make repairs, and completed the flight less than 48 hours later.

    Southwest Flight Diverts to Louisville

    What: Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-300, en route from Orlando to Chicago
    Where: Louisville Kentucky
    When: Mar 28 2011 3:00 pm
    Who: 101 passengers 5 crew
    Why: While en route, the cockpit began to fill with smoke. A pilot saw a problem with the windshield defroster wiring, and turned off the defroster.

    The pilots diverted the flight to Louisville where they made a safe landing. Passengers were provided an alternative Boeing flight to Chicago arriving two and a half hours later.

    American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing at JFK Airport

    American Airlines flight AA-174 made an emergency landing at John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, on October 7th.

    The Boeing 777-200 plane heading from Raleigh–Durham International Airport, North Carolina, to Heathrow Airport, England, was diverted due to an electrical problem.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All passengers and crew members remained safe.
