    PIA Jet Returns to Toronto Airport

    pia-logoPakistan International Airlines flight PK-782 had to return and make an emergency landing in Toronto, Canada, on December 7.

    The Boeing 777-200, bound for Karachi, Pakistan, had to return after the pilot reported that the cabin was not pressurizing properly.

    The plane landed uneventfully and was taken for examination.

    The aircraft had first attempted to depart from Toronto on December 5 but returned immediately due to cabin pressurization issue. The technicians at Air Canada Hangers conducted maintenance after which it was cleared to take off again 2 days later.

    American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Indianapolis

    American Airlines flight AA-1129 had to return and make an emergency landing in Indianapolis, Indiana, on April 26th.

    The plane took off for Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Texas, but had to return shortly afterwards after the crew received an aft compartment overheat indication.

    The plane landed back safely. All 124 people aboard remained unharmed.

    Turkish Boeing Lands Safely on One Engine

    What: Turkish Airlines Boeing 737-800 en route from Istanbul to Stuttgart
    Where: Istanbul
    When: Jan 28th 2010
    Who: 42 passengers
    Why: After takeoff, the flight crew found an (undesignated) problem in the left engine. That engine was shut down, and the flight returned to Ataturk Airport for a safe landing. Passengers were rebooked when the flight was cancelled.

    Delta Flight Diverts to Anchorage Due to Medical Emergency

    DeltaDelta airlines flight 284 had to make an unscheduled landing at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport in Anchorage, Alaska, on the morning of March 4.

    According to the airline, the Boeing 777-200LR was diverted “in response to a customer medical situation on board”. The flight was heading from Narita International Airport, Japan, to Los Angeles at the time.

    Delta confirmed in a statement, “The flight landed without incident and paramedics met the aircraft on arrival.”

    The plane later took off again and landed in Los Angeles with a 2-hour delay.

    American Eagle Flight Returns to Sioux Falls Regional Airport

    American eagleAn American Eagle flight returned and made an emergency landing at Sioux Falls Regional Airport, South Dakota, on November 15.

    The plane took off for Chicago but had to return immediately afterwards after the pilot reported an engine problem.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All 50 passengers remained safe.

    The FAA is investigating.

    EasyJet Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Edinburgh Airport

    EasyJet flight EZY-1805 made an emergency landing at Edinburgh Airport, Scotland, on January 28th.

    The plane heading from Manchester, England, to Keflavik, Iceland, was diverted due to a disruptive passenger.

    The plane landed uneventfully. The police escorted the unruly passenger out of the plane.
