    What: KA Aviation Cessna 310 en route from Gwinnett County airport to Sparta, Tennessee
    Where: the intersection of Oracle and Walker Drive in Lawrenceville
    When: Friday, October 30, 2009
    Who: pilot James Wardlaw, 58, of Atlanta, and homeowner Judith Krichner, 62, both fatalities
    Why: While en route, the plane crashed into the house of Judith Krichner. Both Wardlaw and Krichner died in the crash. The incident is under investigation.

    US Airways Flight 678 Diverted to Houston When A Baby Passenger Stopped Breathing

    US Airways Flight 678 was forced to make emergency landing when a baby stopped breathing.2

    The flight was en route from Tampa, Florida to Phoenix Sky Harbor, when the baby started turning purple due to seizure. The pilot had to divert the flight to Houston, while the passengers gave chest compressions and rescue breathing, to the baby for saving his life.

    According to media sources, the plane safely landed in Houston where the child was given medical aid.

    The US Airways flight was continued to Phoenix.

    Manila: Plane Crashes Neighborhood, Warehouse

    What: Victoria Air Douglas C-47B Skytrain freighter en route from Manila to Palawan/ Puerto Princesa, Philippines
    Where: Villa Fidela subdivision in Las Pinas; abandoned warehouse
    When: Oct 17th 2009
    Who: 4 on board (7?)
    Why: After takeoff, the crew reported a mayday situation. After reporting engine trouble, they were returning to the airport. Witnesses say that the airplane began to “wobble” (roll left and right). The pilot was approaching runway 6 when plane lost altitude, went down in Villa Fidela subdivision in Elias Aldana village and struck a house and a warehouse. 14 houses were damaged and four on board were killed. Two houses by the warehouse caught on fire. The manifest states that 7 were on board but that is unconfirmed.

    The Victoria plane had been on a test flight. The same plane had encountered trouble at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) runway three weeks ago when its brakes failed.

    Published reports identify the dead as Jaguar Huane, flight captain and co-owner of the plane; Benjamin Rivera (another Victoria Pilot), Richard Sinaya, and a “Mr. Cedingan.”

    Pilatus Crash in Mexico


    On Feb 21, 2013, a Fuerza Aérea Mexicana Pilatus PC-6/B2-H4 Turbo Porter with two aboard en route from San­ta Lu­cía AFB was over San­ta Lu­cía AFB, Es­ta­do de Mé­xi­co on a training exercise when it crashed.

    Two people were reported injured, who were taken to nearby hospitals.

    The two aboard were later reported as fatalities.

    What: Indonesian Air Force civilian Lockheed L-100-30(P) Hercules, en route from Jakarta to Madiun’s Iswahyudi Airport [WIAR] (Indonesia) (The Lockheed L-100 is the civilian version of a C-130 Hercules)
    Where: Magetan, East Java. Geplak 325 miles east of Jakarta.
    When: May 19 6:20am local time
    Who: 98 passengers (troops and their families) and 11 crew. On May 22nd, aviation authorities reported recovering 101 bodies. 15 survivors were taken to local hospitals. The exact number aboard is unclear. The flight manifest is reportedly inaccurate. (Some overlap with passengers and crew numbers. The reports range from 99 to 113 passengers and 13 or 14 crew members.) Ten children were on board the flight. Two were killed on the ground..
    Why: The plane was about to land at Iswahyudi military airbase. Witnesses claim the plane split apart in the air, (one of the wings fell off when the plane was still in the air) and exploded.

    The plane skidded through a rice paddy, a stand of trees and into four houses in Geplak. 9 people were in the houses, of whom two are reported dead.

    Ukrainian Warplane Shot Down Near the MH17 Crash Site

    Ukraine FlagA Ukrainian fighter jet crashed after it was shot down near the crash site of MH17, in Eastern Ukraine, on August 7.

    The incident happened when the Sukhoi warplane was flying low over the rebel-held area, near Donetsk, some 40 km west of the site where the Malaysian Airline flight MH17 crashed on July 17.

    The aircraft exploded midair before it crashed into the ground; however, the witnesses reported that the pilot managed to parachute out.

    Spokesperson of Ukrainian military Vladislav Seleznyov, confirmed that rebels had shot down a fighter jet and said that “the pilot managed to steer the craft away from a residential area.” He also said that a search and rescue operation is being carried out for the pilot.
