    Virgin America Flight Makes Emergency Landing at DFW Airport

    Virgin AmericaVirgin America flight VX-762 had to make an emergency landing at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Texas, on October 27th.

    The Airbus A319-100 plane was flying from to Dallas Love Field, Texas, to LaGuardia Airport, New York, when the crew decided to divert due to rudder issues.

    The plane landed safely. All 92 people aboard remained unharmed.

    Air Canada Flight Rejects Takeoff From Zurich

    Air Canada flight AC-879 had to reject takeoff from Zurich, Switzerland, on February 26th.

    The Airbus A330-300 plane was accelerating to takeoff for Toronto, Canada, when the left-hand engine stalled, forcing the crew to reject takeoff.

    The plane safely returned to the apron. All two hundred and sixty-eight passengers and eleven crew members remained unharmed.

    Door Ripped from SAS Airbus


    On Jan 25, 2013, a Scandinavian Airlines SAS Airbus A320-232 with 150 aboard was at Gardermoen airport Norway loaded with passengers to Copenhagen when the SAS plane rolled backwards while it still was parked at gate 44. The door to the plane was ripped from its hinges.

    Both the street and the plane were damaged.

    Passengers were provided alternative flights. The crew and airport hope, optimistically, that the damaged can be handled expeditiously.

    An investigation of how this could happen is underway.

    Brussels Airlines Plane Diverts to France due to Odour in Cockpit

    Brussels Airlines flight SN-3765 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Toulouse–Blagnac Airport, France, on July 13th.

    The Airbus A319-100 flying from Brussels, Belgium, to Palma Mallorca, Spain, had to divert due to an unusual odour in its cockpit.

    The plane landed safely.

    All 140 people aboard remained safe.

    Pegasus Airlines Flight Makes Safe Landing After Bird Strike

    Pegasus Airlines flight PC-2862 made a safe landing following a bird strike near Gulyali, Turkey, on August 16th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane flying from Sabiha Gokçen International Airport, Turkey, was on final approach to Gulyali when a bird hit it.

    The plane continued for a safe landing. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    What: Cathay Pacific Airbus A330-300 en route from Singapore (Singapore) to Jakarta
    Where: Singapore
    When: May 16th 2011
    Who: 136 passengers
    Why: After takeoff, the right engine developed problems. Twenty minutes into the flight, the plane started to shake, and the plane was “plunged into darkness.” There was a stall in the #2 engine, which banged twice and filled the cabin with the scent of burning. Passengers prayed aloud.

    Captain Bradley Chic shut down the affected engine.The crew reported the emergency and returned to Changi Airport to make a safe landing with emergency vehicles on standby.

    Passengers disembarked normally, after which they joined hands in the airport and shared a prayer.
    Six fire vehicles put out a fire in the right engine.
