After encountering low visibility in Kushma Bazaar, a Shree Airlines helicopter en route from Dolpa to Pokhara made an emergency landing at around 10:00 am when it diverted to the Chandika Armed Police Battalion in Kushma Bazaar.
Shree Airlines wants to emphasize that a diversion during rainy season is not an emergency.
General Manager of the Airlines Anil Manandha said that “…such landing during rainy season is normal. This is not an emergency landing.”
The chopper had intended to refuel in Pokhara.
The helicopter landed in Kathmandu at 1:00 p.m.

An IndiGo flight had to make an emergency landing at Devi Ahilyabal Holkar Airport in Indore, India, on August 31.
The plane was en-route from Mumbai to Lucknow when it had to be diverted due to a medical emergency. Authorities said a female passenger fell critically ill midair.
The plane landed safely.
The patient was rushed to Arihant hospital.

A helicopter crashed near Kenisco Road in South Venice, Sarasota County. Florida, on December 1.
Authorities said the helicopter, that took off from Venice Regional Airport with a female student pilot and a male teacher on-board, made a rough landing in a heavily wooded area of Lemon Bay Preserve.
The student sustained facial/head injuries and was airlifted to Sarasota Memorial Hospital. The teacher was taken to Venice Bayfront Health.
The FAA is investigating.

Minor Vidal, the sole survivor was found in the Amazon jungle. Minor said “I did not eat anything, nothing, just drank my urine when I was thirsty. The first night I slept on the plane and two nights in the jungle. I did not understand why the plane was flying so low. Then there was a heavy blow. I do not remember more. When I awoke, I saw the airplane game, could not move. I stayed in my seat, I was in the back of the plane. The next day [Wednesday], I went and did my blood with an arrow on a shirt to get me. They were all dead. I walked day and night to be found by the patrol.”

The last contact was reporting the flight was “in the procedure turn” but the flight did not land on the runway, and went missing in a mountainous area.
Rescuers reached the crash site in the afternoon of Sept 8 and confirmed that there were survivors.
The wreckage of the plane was located 30km north-east of the city of Trinidad, in the Amazon jungle province of Beni. Chacon reported on thursday that a helicopter crew had seen the plane “completely destroyed” in a difficult-to-reach jungle region.
Six bodies were recoverable immediately when the wreckage was found. Two bodies trapped in the wreckage required rescue teams and equipment.

Southwest Airlines Flight 3809 on its way from Minneapolis-St. Paul airport to Denver, had to divert and make an emergency landing at Sioux City airport in Iowa, at about 2:40 p.m. on June 29.
The decision to divert and make an emergency landing was made after the pilot noticed a power warning light flashing in the cockpit.
The Boeing 737, with 143 passengers and 5 crew members aboard, then landed without incident after remaining in the air for about 90 minutes.
Southwest spokeswoman Michelle Agnew said that the pilot adopted a cautious route although the situation was not that dire.
Sioux City airport operations manager John Backer said that the passengers were provided a replacement plane to resume the journey after waiting for three hours in the lounge.
