Pakistan Military Trainees Collide over Rashkai Field

What: 2 Pakistan Air Force PAC MFI-17 Mushshak en route from RISALPUR (OPRS) Military Airport
Where: Nowshera, Rashkai Pakistan
When: May 17, 2012
Who: 4 pilot fatalities, 1 civilian fatality, 8 injured
Why: Two planes were on a training mission when they collided; then one crashed into a house, and another into the adjoining field. Two trainees and two instructors were killed in the crash. According to reports, the collided in midair. The collision caused a large fire in a residential area.

The deceased were identified as Mohazzam, Mustafa, Masood and Zareen.

Witnesses say the wings knocked together and set the planes on fire. Inside the house, two residents, a girl and an elderly man, were injured.

Pakistan Air force Headquarters is investigating. There have been six PAC crashes in the last seven months.

Fuentes Fabián Meneses and technical sub Leandro Mayor Sanchez) and four members of the police anti-narcotics service (Gutierrez Mendoza Eimer, John Contreras Lobo, John Jewel Delgado, Wilson Germain Medina Correa Delgado and Castillo). Four surviving narcotics officers (Miguel Ochoa Assistant Parrado, Domingo Gamarra Roso, Orlando Castillo and Jose Jaimes Torres Vesga) have been hospitalized.

    The helicopter was completely destroyed.

    The chopper’s registration number was PLC-0731

    Spicejet Wing Hits Post on Runway


    What: SpiceJet Boeing 737-800 en route from Delhi to Hyderabad
    Where: Delhi-Indira Gandhi International Airport
    When: Dec 6 2012
    Who: 142 aboard
    Why: During taxi, the plane’s wing struck a lamp post, canceling the flight for 142 passengers. A damaged wing will require inspection before the plane can return to service.

    Spicejet issued a statement that the accident was minor.

    According to reports, 142 passengers were aboard at the time, many of them quite disturbed by the incident. The collision damaged a wing.

    An inquiry has been ordered. Action may be taken against the pilot and those who were directing the pilot. Spicejet’s attitude is that this is a minor incident. That attitude is being interpreted by officials that the safety of passengers is not of primary concern to Spicejet. This may be considered a case of negligence.

    Midair Collision in Phoenix Kills 4


    On May 31, 2013, a Transpac Aviation Academy Piper out of Deer Valley airport, and a Westwind School of Aeronautics Cessma were fifteen miles from the Deer Valley Airport when they collided.

    Two people were aboard each flight, and there were no survivors.

    The Cessna caught fire after impact.

    Passengers names have not been released.

    When 2 planes collided near Boulder Municipal Airport, glider pilot Reuben Bakker flew through the fireball. He and his two passenger were all right; three people were killed. Altitude my have been a factor, as well as the highly technical nature of the Cirrus, which is heavily video-electronic with a blind spot under the plane

    It appears that a Piper Pawnee hit the a Cirrus SR-20 from below.

    Saudi Arabian Airlines Plane Diverts to Karachi after Captain Passes Out

    Saudi Arabian AirlinesSaudi Arabian Airlines flight SV-891 made an emergency landing in Karachi, Pakistan, on December 1st.

    The Airbus A330-300 plane was heading from Lucknow, India, to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, when the captain passed out, prompting the first officer to declare an emergency.

    The plane landed safely in Karachi.

    What: PIA Pakistan International Airlines Avion de Transport Regional ATR-42-500 en route from Karachi to Bahawalpur
    Where: Karachi
    When: Apr 27th 2012
    Who: Belligerent Passenger, 52 aboard
    Why: While en route, economy class passenger Javed Ansari had words with a flight attendant. Those words included threats that sounded like hijack attempts to someone. The passenger told authorities that he “hurled a threat after a quarrel with attendants Sadaf Mansoor and Mehreen Fatima, but had no intention to hijack the aircraft.” Ansari was offloaded in Karachi and escorted away by Airport Security Force commandos and handed off to police. The flight was delayed almost three hours.

    Xinhua news reported that Urdu TV channel ARY News said Ansari followed the attendants into the cockpit and asked the captain to divert the flight. This was reported as a foiled hijack attempt, where the pilot tricked the hijacker by claiming the plane had to return to Karachi for an emergency landing. Ansari says he was “joking.”
