    Small Plane Crashed in Louisiana; No Injuries Reported

    A small plane crashed in a hay field in Ascension Parish, Louisiana, on August 17th.

    Authorities said the Beechcraft Bonanza plane had lost power shortly after taking off from Louisiana Regional Airport.

    There were two people aboard at the time; both of them remained uninjured.

    Plane Crashes into Inlet beside Fire Island


    What: Globe Swift en route from Spadaro Airport
    Where: Moriches inlet, Fire Island
    When: Oct 20, 2012 3 p.m.
    Who: 2 aboard
    Why: A Globe Swift plane that took off from Spadaro Airport had two aboard.

    The plane was witnessed nosediving into Moriches inlet where it sank twenty to thirty feet deep, ending up upside down on a rock where divers took hours trying to retrieve the occupants.

    Fishermen were the first on the scene, and tried to haul the plane up with a rope.Medics were on standby waiting for the divers to retrieval of the passengers, but the occupants were underwater for hours and presumed deceased.

    American Airlines Flight Returns to JFK Airport due to Electrical Problem

    American Airlines flight AA-64 had to return and make an emergency landing at John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, on October 5th.

    The Boeing 767-300 plane took off for Zurich, Switzerland, but had to turn back after the crew noticed an electrical problem.

    The plane landed back uneventfully. All passengers and crew members remained safe.

    Jenni Rivera Flight Wrongful Death Lawsuit Filed in LA

    Even though Rivera had filed for divorce, the widower of Jenni Rivera, Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Esteban Loaiza, is suing the owners of the Learjet that crashed on Dec. 9, 2012, killing the Mexican-American “Diva de la Banda” and six others. The wrongful death lawsuit in in Los Angeles Superior Court claims that the 78-year-old pilot and the co-pilot weren’t licensed to fly paying passengers.Also, the 43 year old jet flew unevenly and trembled when it hit cruising speed.

    The families of four of the others, Rivera’s deceased publicist, makeup artist, hairstylist and attorney filed a wrongful death lawsuit in January 2013.

    The pilot exceeded the age limit for the kind of license he obtained from Mexico, a fact for which Mexico’s civil aviation holds Mexico accountable. The pilot and co-pilot also died in the crash.

    The plane’s owners were Starwood Management LLC and its parent company, Rodatz Financial Group.

    The plane took off from Monterey and crashed within fifteen minutes.

    Turkish Airlines Jet Skids Off Runway at Kathmandu Airport

    Turkish airlinesA Turkish Airlines passenger jet, operating flight # TK726, skidded off the runway at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal, on March 4.

    The accident happened in dense foggy conditions, when the Airbus A330, carrying 224 people, was coming from Istanbul, Turkey.

    The plane ended up on its nose and the passengers had to use emergency slides to exit.

    None of the passengers and crew members sustained serious injuries.

    What: Russian Air Force Antonov 22A en route from Voronezh to Tver-Migalovo
    Where: Krasny Oktyabr, Tula Region, Russia
    When: Dec 28, 2010, 21:30
    Who: 12 crewmembers (all fatalities)
    Why: After disappearing from radar at 21:30, the Russian military transport plane on a return flight after delivering a MiG-31 fighter jet to the Voronezh Military Aviation Engineering University crashed near Krasny Oktyabr, Tula Region, Russia. There was no cargo. The burning remains were sighted by air patrols on Tuesday at 23:36 four kilometres from the village of Troitskoye. Witnesses heard an explosion.

    Two on site recovery teams hampered by a blizzard and brutal cold weather found that all 12 crew members had been killed. Russian reports speculate that the cause was engine failure. The Antonov is a military cargo turboprop.

    The Russian military is grounding all planes with similar engines, pending determination of the cause of the crash.
