    Cessna Crash-landing w/o landing gear

    What: Cessna en route from New Haven to Tampa
    Where: Tampa Executive Airport,
    When: November 4, 2009
    Who: pilot and passenger pilot Margaret Davidson, 81, and her husband Donald Davidson, 82,
    Why: The plane crashed when the front landing gear failed . the plane slid to a landing on its belly and broken gear.

    Lao Airlines Victims Recovered in Mekong River

    There were Australians-a family of four and an aid worker and his father-aboard the ATR 72 crash in Laos. Forty-four passengers including five crew died in the crash. THe plane caught the tail end of a typhoon and crashed in the Mekong River. People from ten countries were aboard, including Koreans, French and Australians.

    The Oct 16, 2013 crash is the first reported crash of Lao airlines.

    Lao Airlines Flight QV301 Avions de Transport Regional ATR-72-600, from Vientiene was about to land at Pakse airport when it crashed. No survivors were reported. Between the weather and low visibility underwater, few bodies have been recovered so far.

    Rescuers in fishing boats retrieved some of the remains.

    Snowstorm Impairs Family’s Landing in Colorado

    What: Cessna 414A Chancellor En route from Texas to Hayden.
    Where: Yampa Valley Regional Airport, Hayden, Colorado
    When: Feb 19 2012 3:30 p.m.
    Who: 6 aboard, 2 fatalities
    Why: Before flying to Colorado, the plane left Corpus Christi International Airport at 9 a.m. and stopped in Dalhart, Texas. By the time they reached Colorado, there was a heavy snow storm. The flight was coming in to the airport, and with zero visibility crashed 30 yards short of the airport.

    Of the six aboard, two—a man and a woman—were killed on impact and four were injured. The plane crashed 300 yards from the airport’s fire station but did not catch afire. The four injured were conscious when they were taken to Yampa Valley Medical Center in Steamboat Springs. They had been going to Steamboat Springs for a ski vacation.

    The name on the plane’s registration is Scott A. Humpal of Woodsboro Texas. The pilot and Humpal’s wife Gabby were the victims of the crash. Humpal and his three children survived the crash.

    Eleven year old Sara, the youngest daughter, has a broken back. She is scheduled for surgery Monday. Scott has a punctured lung.

    The NTSB is investigating.

    Crash in Brazil Totals Ultralight


    On January 2, 2013, a Condor MB ultralight was over rural Luziânia Brazil when the engine shut down.

    The ultralight crashed in a forest and was damaged beyond repair.

    Pilot Alberto Rossi Junior, and his son Lucas Ferreira Rossi, survived, and were taken to a Brasilia hospital.

    Military police and the Fire Department respnded to the scene. The paperwork of the pilot and the plane is reported to be up to date.

    South American Geophysical Survey Flight DIsappears, Search Underway


    What: Chartered Dynamic Aviation geophysical survey flight ( twin-engine Beech King Air, N87V) on behalf of Canadian mining company Prometheus Resources Inc
    Where: Guyana South America near the border of Venezuela
    When: Saturday Nov 8
    Who: 3 men reported missing, including Pilot Wes (James Wesley) Barker, co-pilot, Chris Paris, 23, and Canadian Patrick Murphy, a geophysics technician
    Why: Cause is unknown but the search is currently underway although hampered by cloud cover. The plane departed Timehri, in western Guyana at 2:14 p.m. local time and was last reported at 3:06 p.m
