Where: on the French Mediterranean island of Corsica in the mountainous area near the city of Bastia. The helicopter “brutally” flew into a mountain in poor weather.

Who: Five people: two pilots, a medic and two patients
Why: In spite of bad weather (fog, wind and rain), there was no distress signal. The medical team hadn’t realized how close to delivery the mother was; the helicopter was en route to the hospital as the Frenchwoman was giving birth. Mother and newborn perished in the crash along with everyone aboard. A rescue team of 150 found the wreckage.

Thai Lion Air Co-Pilot Passes out Mid Air, Dies
The Thai Lion Air flight SL8537 from Hat Yai to Bangkok, Thailand, had to return for emergency landing on August 20, after the co-pilot collapsed midair.The Dutch co-pilot Peter Esberte, 47 lost consciousness just 20 minutes after the Boeing 737-900 aircraft took off. The pilot then decided to return to Hat Yai airport where he made an emergency landing at 1:21 p.m.
Esberte later died on the way to hospital from the airport. The cause of death is not yet known, however, the Aeronautical Radio of Thailand (Aerothai) said Esberte died of a heart attack.
Worawut Kongkositkul, in-charge of flight operations for the low cost airline, said that Esberte joined the airline last year at its launch and was completely healthy.
All 152 passengers aboard the plane remained unharmed.

Why: When a passenger on the flight became ill, the flight diverted to Yakima, where the passenger was taken to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital after a safe landing. The landing was uneventful except for brakes overheating.After a 7.5 hour delay, passengers were back en route.

Where: Jael Subdivision in Barangay Iyam, south of Lucena City, Philippines
When: MAY 17, 2010
Who: 4 aboard the flight, and two or three on the ground including Rowena Navales (14) 7 fatalities in all.
Why: The Lion Air helicopter had just taken off. A scant 300 feet later, the chopper swerved, the propeller stopped spinning, and the helicopter slammed into three houses in a neighborhood 70 miles south of Manila. The fire spread to five houses. There were two or three fatalities on the ground, possibly all children, in addition to those aboard the flight.Aboard were Quezon Gov. Rafael Nantes,his military escort Master Sergeant Alfred Dominguez, police escort Police Officer Randy Roferez, and the pilot identified as Nestor Sanchez.
The crash is being attributed to mechanical problems.
EgyptAir: Wreckage, Blackboxes located by “John Lethbridge”
The Egyptair Airbus A320 known as flight MS-804 that departed May 18th from Charles de Gaulle airport and disappeared over the Mediterranean in Egyptian airspace apparently has been found. Jun 15th 2016 Egypt’s Civil Aviation Authority reported that the “John Lethbridge” identified A320 wreckage locations. Currently the area in question is being mapped, part of the planning process of wreckage recovery.
Fifty-six passengers and ten crew died in the wreckage.
