    Kenya Airways Plane Returns to Harare After Bird Strike

    Kenya Airways flight KQ-704 had to return and make an emergency landing in Harare, Zimbabwe, on May 7th.

    The plane heading to Lusaka, Zambia, had to turn back after it suffered a bird strike during departure.

    The plane landed back safely. All ninety-six passengers remained safe.

    What: Iberia Airbus A340-600 en route from Madrid, to Santiago
    Where: Las Palmas
    When: Feb 5th 2010
    Why: While en route, it was discovered that the windshield was cracked.
    The flight diverted to Las Palmas where it made a safe landing. After the windshield was replaced, the flight departed about 20 hours later

    United Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Shannon Airport

    United Airlines flight UA-24 made an emergency landing at Shannon Airport, Ireland, on June 23rd.

    The Boeing 757-200 plane took off for Newark, New Jersey, but had to turn back due to electrical problems.

    The crew needed to shut down one of the engines before the plane landed back safely.

    All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Cessna Street Landing As Electrical Quits


    On Jan 31, 2013, a Cessna R172K was en route from Governor Francisco Gabrielli International Airport (El Plumerillo International Airport, ) in Mendoza Argentina to San Carlos de Bariloche Airport in San Carlos de Bariloche, Río Negro, Argentina when it suffered a loss of electrical power.

    Pilot Rodolfo Smith made a safe emergency landing near Villa La Angostura.

    Pilots made an emergency landing on Route 40 Rincon Chico Zone, The passengers had planned to visit Bariloche and fly on to Chile. Individuals from an Aeroclub and ANAC came to assist.

    Repairs to the electrical system were made and the plane took off to complete its journey. The passengers were en route to a festival in Chile.

    Skymark Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Japan due to Smoke in Portable Charger

    SkymarkSkymark Airlines flight 732 had to return and make an emergency landing at New Chitose Airport, Hakkaido, Japan, on August 22nd.

    The aircraft en-route to Haneda, Japan, was mid-air when a passenger’s portable battery charger exploded and started emitting smoke.

    The plane landed uneventfully.

    All 170 passengers onboard remained unharmed.
