Why: On approach to Cuzco, flight instrumentation detected an unsafe gear. After flying in a holding pattern, ultimately, the Airbus landed safely.

What: Piasecki PV-18 en route from Adelanto to Flabob
Where: Highway 395, one mile south of Adelanto Airport, CA
When: Nov 7, 2009, 8:30 a.m.
Who: 3 fatalities
Why: After takeoff, the helicopter struck power lines and caught afire.
The helicopter (owned by Joseph William Pike of Victorville CA) was a vintage military aircraft built in 1951. The crash destroyed the helicopter, and there were no survivors.
A single engine plane crash landed on a golf course in southwest Ohio, after its engine failed.
The plane took off from the Clermont County Airport at 10:45 am on April 12, and just before 11 am, it had to make an emergency landing in the Stillmeadow Country Club.
There were two people on board, Kenneth Howes who was flying the plane and Karla Goodhouse who is a licensed commercial pilot and owned the plane. Both the passengers suffered only minor injuries.
Helvetic Airways flight LX-454 had to return and make an emergency landing in Zurich, Switzerland, on February 10th.
The Embraer ERJ-190 plane took off for London, United Kingdom, but had to return shortly afterwards due to an issue with a fuel pump.
The plane landed back safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
JetBlue flight 1534 had to divert and make and emergency landing at Norfolk International Airport, Virginia, at around 4:30 p.m. on January 12.
The Embraer aircraft, en-route from Tampa, Florida to Hartford, Connecticut, was diverted after the crew reported a strange odor in the cabin.
The plane landed uneventfully. All 93 people aboard remained safe.
Another aircraft was arranged which later took the passengers to Hartford.
Qantas flight QF-2164 had to return and make an emergency landing in Sydney, Australia, on June 19th.
The plane took off for Port Macquarie, Australia, but had to turn back due to a lightning strike.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

Where: Ottawa- runway 23
When: May 21st 2009
Who: 88 people on board
Why: When the flight experienced engine failure, the pilot diverted to Ottawa and landed safely.
