Lufthansa flight LH-688 had to return and make an emergency landing at Munich Airport, Munich, Germany, on April 21st.
The Airbus A321-200, en-route from Munich to Tel Aviv, Israel, had just climbed out of the runway when the crew detected failure of the left hand engine, prompting the plane to return.
The plane landed uneventfully.
All passengers onboard remained unharmed.

Why: On takeoff, the gear liver broke. The crew flew on to Kagoshima, landing under emergency conditions with rescue crew on standby. The flight made a safe landing, and was towed.
At Kagoshima, the gear lever was replaced.
British Airways flight BA-232 made an emergency landing at Berlin Tegel Airport, Germany, on November 16th.

What: American Airlines Boeing 767-200 en route from San Francisco to New York

Why: While en route to NY, the flight encountered turbulence. Several flight attendants received bumps and bruises from the encounter. The flight diverted to Chicago, landing there half an hour after the incident, and remained In Chicago for an hour and a half prior to taking off again for New York.
