Who: 5 passengers including Permanent Secretary for natural resources and environment Saksit Tridech, inspector-general of the National Park, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department and a senior adviser to the Royal Household Bureau. The pilot who worked for the Natural Resources and Environment Ministry was Major Jenwit Arunsawat. Sergeant Withoon Thienngern, who was the machinist, also aboard.
Why: While flying over a remote jungle in stormy weather, the helicopter disappeared from radar. The search involved 350 rangers, soldiers, forestry officials, village headmen and villagers. Ground search of 17 separate search parties led by local guides and four search helicopters were utilized to find the wreckage which was located Wednesday, three kilometers from the closest settlement. The helicopter crashed into a mountainside at 1,500 meters. There was no fire.Wednesday, rescue teams encountered steep terrain, making the recovery of the remains difficult but the five bodies were recovered.
Funeral services will be at Wat Phra Si Maha That in Bangkok.

Southwest Airlines Plane Suffers In-Flight Engine Failure; 1 Killed
On April 17th, a Southwest Airlines plane suffered an in-flight engine failure and got hit by debris from the damaged engine, shattering a passenger window and killing one passenger.The incident happened when the flight WN-1380 was heading from LaGuardia Airport, New York, to Dallas, Texas.
The crew subsequently initiated an emergency descent and diverted to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Passengers reported that the deceased passenger, identified as Jennifer Riordan, 43, was partially sucked out of the aircraft through the shattered window. She was pulled back in by fellow passengers.

Why: The engine stalled at an altitude of about 300 feet, crashed into a swamp on the aerodrome property, causing the top wings to collapse. Its lower wings sustained damage. A small plane crashed near Tweed-New Haven Airport in Connecticut, on February 22nd.
Authorities said the Piper PA 38 plane went down in a nearby swamp immediately after taking off from the airport.
There were two people aboard at the time; one of them was killed in the accident while the other one was injured.
The deceased was identified as Pablo Campos Isona, 31, of East Haven.
The injured passenger was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital.

The Nigerian Navy helicopter crashed in Bayelsa Nigeria that crashed Saturday killed a six including Patrick Yakowa, General Andrew Azazi, governor’s aide, Dauda Tsoho and Warrant Officer Mohammed Kamal who is Azazi’s aide as well as the pilots, Commander Murtala Mohammed Daba and Lt. Adeyemi O. Sowole.
Two entertainers, Ramsey Nouah and Timi Dakolo who were presumed dead were not aboard a helicopter. They missed the charter flight to Oronto Douglas’s father’s funeral.
