    UTair Aviation Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Vnukovo International Airport

    UTair Aviation flight UT-258 had to make an emergency landing at Vnukovo International Airport, Russia, on February 13th.

    The Boeing 737-500 plane was flying from Saint Petersburg, Russia, when the crew reported a fuel leak and had to shut down one of the engines.

    The plane continued for a safe landing. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Air France Flight Diverts to Belfast International Airport

    Air FranceAn Air France flight, operated by Cityjet, had to divert and make an emergency landing at Belfast International Airport, United Kingdom, on December 4.

    Authorities said the plane, en-route from Paris, France, to Dublin, Ireland, was diverted due to Storm Desmond.

    The plane landed uneventfully. There were over 50 passengers aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

    The airline arranged bus for the passengers.

    Aruba-bound jet incurs Donkey Strike

    What: Tiara Air Aruba Shorts 360-100 en route from Las Piedras Venezuela to Aruba
    Where: Las Piedras
    When: Dec 5th 2011
    Who: 29 passengers, 4 crew
    Why: Taking off from Las Piedras, the plane struck a donkey with its right main gear.

    Pilots continued on to Aruba where they made a safe landing.

    There were no injuries. Apparently the forecast for repair is better in Aruba than Las Piedras.

    Virgin Australia Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Brisbane

    Virgin Australia flight VA-1280 made an emergency landing in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, on February 23nd.

    The Boeing 737-800, heading from Hamilton Island, to Sydney, Australia, was diverted after the crew noticed an unusual odor in the cabin.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All 160 people aboard remained safe.

    Southwest Flight Diverts to Denver International Airport

    southwest_airlines_logoSouthwest flight 100 had to make an emergency landing at Denver International Airport, Colorado, on April 24.

    The flight was en-route from Las Vegas to Milwaukee when the pilot reported a pressurization issue in the aircraft and requested an emergency landing.

    The plane landed safely.

    Authorities said one passenger slipped while exiting the plane and was shifted to hospital.

    Korean Air Plane Catches Fire at Japan’s Haneda Airport

    korean airKorean Air flight KE-2708 rejected take off from Haneda Airport in Japan, on May 27th.

    The Boeing 777-300 was accelerating to take off for Gimpo International Airport, South Korea, when an engine fire broke out. The crew rejected take off and evacuated the aircraft.

    There were 319 people aboard, including 302 passengers and 17 crew members; 12 of them were injured and were taken to hospitals.
