    Bird-Hit Brussels Airlines Plane Returns to Brussels

    Thomas Cook flight FQ-816 had to return and make an emergency landing in Brussels, Belgium, on February 7th.

    The Airbus A319-100 plane, operated by Brussels Airlines, took off for Marrakech, Morocco, but had to return shortly afterwards after one of its engines ingested a bird.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All 140 passengers remained safe.

    The airline arranged a replacement aircraft for the passengers.

    EasyJet Flight Makes Emergency Landing After Engine Failure

    EasyJet flight U2-8650 had to return and make an emergency landing in Ibiza, Spain, on September 3rd.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane took off for Gatwick Airport, England, but had to return shortly afterwards due to an engine failure.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    EasyJet Flight Rejects Takeoff From Berlin Schonefeld Airport

    EasyJet flight U2-4727 had to reject takeoff from Berlin Schonefeld Airport, Germany, on December 12th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane was accelerating to takeoff for Larnaca, Cyprus, when the crew rejected takeoff reporting strong vibrations.

    The plane safely returned to the apron.

    All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Where: north end of the airfield at Summit Aviation
    When: November 9, 2008
    Who: Amanda Randall, 51, of Fenwick Island
    Why: While flying a few feet off the ground, the helicopter flipped on its side. Randall sustained a non-fatal head injury.

    Caribbean Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Hewanorra International Airport

    Caribbean Airlines flight BW-434 had to make an emergency landing at Hewanorra International Airport, Saint Lucia, on July 9th.

    The plane heading from Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, to George F. L. Charles Airport, Saint Lucia, was diverted after the crew received an engine fire indication.

    The plane landed safely. There were sixty-eight people aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.

    Saudi Arabian Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Scotland

    Saudi Arabian AirlinesSaudi Arabian Airlines flight SV-61 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Glasgow Prestwick Airport, Prestwick, Scotland, on March 31st.

    The Boeing 777, en-route from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to Toronto, Canada, was mid-air when a passenger reportedly fell ill onboard, prompting the plane to divert to Prestwick.

    The plane landed safely.

    All passengers aboard remained unharmed.
