    What: PIA Pakistan International Airlines Airbus A310-300 en route from from Karachi Pakista) to Dhaka Bangladesh
    Where: Karachi
    When: Feb 2 2010
    Why: A couple of hours into the flight (20 minutes away from the destination), the crew detected a hydraulic issue with the landing gear. After announcing they were diverting to Dhaka, they instead returned to Karachi for repairs. The choice of Karachi was made due to superior facilities for repair, at least as compared to what was available in Dhaka.

    Passengers disembarked and boarded another plane.

    Pakistan’s sports team (Pakistan boxing, table tennis, swimming and a martial arts team) were aboard en route to the South Asian Games.

    At least 350 game participants left Karachi in at least 6 flights.

    Delta Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Indianapolis

    Delta Airlines flight DL-2848 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Indianapolis, Indiana, on October 1st.

    The Airbus A319-100 plane heading from Detroit, Michigan, to Saint Louis, Missouri, was diverted after an odor was noticed in the cockpit.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Delta Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing at Seattle–Tacoma International Airport

    250px-Delta_logo.svgDelta Airlines flight 17 had to make an emergency landing at Seattle–Tacoma International Airport, Washington, on October 26th.

    The plane took off for Hong Kong, China, but had to turn back after an indicator light went off.

    The plane landed safely at Sea-Tac Airport where the fire trucks hosed down the brakes with water.

    Everyone aboard remained safe.

    MD-83 Emergency Landing in Copenhagen

    What: Danish Air Transport McDonnell Douglas MD-83 en route from Aalborg Denmark to Keflavik Icelandd
    Where: Kastrup Airport, Copenhagen
    When: Mar 4 2010
    Who: crew
    Why: While en route, the crew got a low fuel message and diverted to Copenhagen. The problem turned out to be fuel pump feed line pressure.

    Delta Airlines Plane Returns to Minnesota after Lavatory Smoke Indication

    250px-Delta_logo.svgDelta Airlines flight DL-1996 had to return and make an emergency landing at Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport, Minnesota, on October 22nd.

    The McDonnell Douglas MD-88 en-route to LaGuardia Airport, New York, had to return after the crew received indication of smoke in lavatory.

    The plane landed uneventfully.

    All 149 passengers aboard were unhurt.

    The passengers were later provided a replacement plane.

    Four injured in Westjet Turbulence

    What: Westjet Airlines Boeing 737-700 en route from Calgary to Winnipeg
    Where: Winnipeg Canada
    When: May 29 2010
    Who: 96 people on board
    Why: While on approach to Winnipeg the flight encountered turbulence which injured four: two flight attendants and two passengers. After the Boeing made a safe landing, two of the injured were hospitalized, and two went home after treatment at the airport.
