    American Airlines Flight Diverts to St. Louis

    American Airlines flight 1691 was en route from Newark to Dallas Texas and diverted to Lambert Airport in St. Louis when passengers aboard the flight were concerned about a passenger’s use of an electronic device.

    The person in question was taken into police custody.

    The flight continued to Dallas.

    The person who was the security risk was taken off the plane in police custody but released after the interview, and provided a hotel room. The passenger will be provided another flight.

    Philadelphia Bound Canadair CRJ Hops to Dulles with Mechanical Issues

    What: US Airways Express flight 3650 Canadair CRJ (CRJ) en route from Washington to Philadelphia
    Where: Washington DC
    When: March 12, 2012 2:20 pm
    Who: 3 crew, 29 passengers
    Why: After takeoff from Ronald Reagan National Airport, a warning light indicated problems. Pilots diverted to Dulles where they made a safe landing with emergency services on standby.

    Passengers were provided alternative flights.
    US 3650 is a 58 minute 119 mile domestic flight departing from the Ronald Reagan Washington Natl, Washington airport (DCA) and arriving at Philadelphia airport (PHL).

    Ask NTSB Why United Boeing Battery overheat was a non-reportable incident?

    What is significant here is that no report was filed on the United Boeing 787-800 (Washington Dulles,DC-Paris Charles de Gaulle) that received a main battery overheat indication while landing in Paris on
    Nov 12th 2017. The battery was venting fluid via from the forward vent relief system. The NTSB reported to Aviation Herald that the occurrence was rated a non-reportable incident. No investigation was opened. 14 other SDR reports were filed).

    Delta Plane Returns to Georgia after Electrical Issues

    Delta Airlines flight DL-64 had to return and make an emergency landing at Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Atlanta, Georgia, on May 1st.

    The Airbus A330-300 en-route to Rome Fiumicino, Italy, had to return due to electrical issues.

    The plane landed safely.

    All 306 people aboard remained safe.

    Fire in Cockpit Cancels Flight

    What: Egyptair Boeing 777-200 en route from Cairo Egypt to Jeddah Saudi Arabia
    Where: Cairo
    When: July 29 2011
    Who: 291 passengers, 7 hospitalized
    Why: After passengers boarded but before takeoff, the cockpit experienced a fire. Smoke leaked into the cabin, but luggage was intact.

    Passengers exited via sides, with five injuries resulting. Two firemen were hospitalized with smoke inhalation.

    United Airlines Plane makes Safe Landing in Colorado

    new-united-logoUnited Airlines flight UA-1278 made a safe landing at Denver International Airport, Denver, Colorado, on December 31.

    The Boeing 737-800, flying from Miami, Florida, was about to turn off the runway when the crew reported an indication of smoke in its forward cargo hold.

    The plane landed uneventfully.

    Everyone aboard remained safe.
