Chile Turns to Psychic Leonor del Carmen Díaz

What: Grupo 10, Fuerza Aerea de Chile CASA 212 Aviocar en route from Santiago to isla Juan Fernandez
Where: near the Juan Fernandez islands
When: Sept 2, 2011 4:58 p.m.
Who: 21 aboard, 21 fatalities
Why: The Chilean air force plane on a relief flight attempted to land, but the landing was aborted twice as pilots fought hard winds. On the third attempt, the flight disappeared from radar, as witnesses saw it veer left. It was lost at sea.

In addition to the usual sources, Defence Minister Andres Allamand of Chile told the world Chile has turned to a psychic who was on one of the search boats as it looked for 17 bodies missing off of the island believed to have been the setting for the novel Robinson Crusoe by 18th century British author Daniel Defoe, the main island of the Juan Fernandez archipelago.

The local psychic who assisted was Leonor del Carmen Díaz. She drew a map of her “vision” of the accident that revealed to her body of the “plane on the ocean floor with victims’ bodies still strapped in their seat belts inside it.”

WE believe in whatever it takes to find the bodies, and if a Psychic works by all means.

    Why: A plane carrying eight Syrian engineers and seven Yemenis crashed while landing at Al-Anad on October 25 in the southern province of Lahij.

    Three Syrian technicians and one Yemeni died at the scene. Four, then five deaths have been reported.

    Thai Chopper Down

    What: Royal Thai Army Aviation Bell UH-1H Huey
    Where: between Phetchaburi and Ratchaburi, Thailand
    When: July 16 2011
    Who: 5 fatalities
    Why: A chopper on a mission (air ambulance flight) to rescue civilians trapped in Kaeng Krachan National Park crashed, killing 5 army officers aboard. Visibility was poor, with heavy rain and thick fog.

    The chopper had taken off from Thap Phraya Sua Camp in Ratchaburi’s Suan Phung district.

    The soldiers lost in that crash were Maj. Kitisak Chin-iam (First pilot), Lt. Pratya Nualsri (Second Pilot), Maj. Kitiphum Ekkaphan (Deputy Commander of the 2nd Infantry Battalion of the 9th Infantry Regiment), Sgt. Maj. Rangsan Polsaibua and Sgt. Maj. Narongdet Pongnumkul (both Flight Mechanics).

    The crash occurred between Phetchaburi and Ratchaburi in the jungle. Retrieval has been hampered by continued bad weather, but four helicopters have participated in recovery, as well as forest rangers and border patrol.

    Condition and status of the stranded civilians has not been released but they appear not to have been aboard the chopper at the time of the crash.

    United Airlines Flight Diverts to Chile due to Electrical Problems

    United Airlines flight UA-818 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Santiago, Chile, on December 25th.

    The Boeing 777-200 plane heading from Buenos Aires, Argentina, to Houston, Texas, was diverted due to electrical problems.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    No Survivors in Bhoja Inaugural Karachi to Islamabad Flight Disaster

    Update: The investigation team formed to probe into Friday’s plane crash on Monday (April 23) visited the site and collected evidence.

    What: Bhoja Air Boeing 737-200 en route from Karachi to Islamabad
    Where: Islamabad
    When: Apr 20th 2012
    Who: 121 passengers and 6 crew
    Why: The plane (reported as #AP-BKC a 27 year old Boeing) took off from Karachi, impacted the ground 3-6 miles from Islamabad while on approach and burst into flames in a rural location(Hussain Abad village) near Chaklala Air Base. No survivors were found, and ten houses on the ground were affected. The plane lost contact with the control tower minutes before landing. There was no distress call. There are conflicting reports that the plane was on fire and was not on fire before it impacted the ground. Some reports say the plane was struck by lightning. There was a thunderstorm at the time of the accident. The fire/fireball after the crash does not appear to have engulfed the entire debris area, according to photos of the scene.


    Debris from the crash is said to cover a large muddy area. The area has not been cordoned off; reporters and others are swarming over the crash site.

    This is reported to be the first Bhorja flight on this route. The jet left at 17:00 and was due to arrive at 18:50.

    The flight data recorder has been recovered along with 110 bodies (so far.)

    The number of people listed as passengers varies from 127 to 130 aboard.

    Two Lost in Glider Crash in France


    A privately owned Schempp-Hirth Arcus E glider had taken off from Sisteron Theze Airport and was near Faucon-de-Barcelonnette in the Ubaye mountains, France, when they disappeared on Sunday.

    The two German glider pilots on the glider were both killed. They disappeared Sunday and were found near Faucon de Barcelonette. The 51 year old pilot was experienced.

    They took off on Sunday and disappeared. THe last contact with them was at two in the afternoon.

    There were strong winds and storms at the time of their disappearance.

    Five Lost in Military Chopper Collision

    What: USMC HMLA-469 Bell UH-1Y Venom
    Where: Yuma, AZ
    When: Feb 22, 2012, 8 pm
    Who: 5 aboard, 5 fatalities
    Why: The helicopter was engaged in night flight exercises on February 22nd near Yuma, AZ when it collided with a smaller two person chopper. Service members with the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing were involved.

    The crash happened west of the Chocolate Mountains in California.

    The names of the five fatalities have not been released.
