Why:plane lost power after takeoff.
A 1960 Piper Comanche single-engine plane made an emergency landing at Millville Municipal Airport, Cumberland County, New Jersey, on December 4.
Authorities said the plane was taking off when it lost power and landed on its belly on the grass near a taxiway.
There were two people aboard at the time, including the pilot Roger Buck of Berlin and his passenger Roland Arthur of Lumberton. Buck sustained minor injuries in the incident while Arthur remained unhurt.
The plane, registered to Buck, was significantly damaged.
The FAA is investigating.
A Cessna 414 crashed into a farm field near Bloomington airport in Illinois, on April 6.
The plane took off from Indianapolis at around 11 p.m. CT, however at 12:15 a.m., Peoria air traffic control informed the Central Illinois Regional Airport that the aircraft’s flight had not been completed.
Multiple search teams were then launched which spotted the plane’s wreckage near McLean County Road 2100 East and Rt. 9.
All seven people aboard were killed in the crash. The deceased include Illinois State University’s associate head coach Torrey Ward and athletic department’s deputy director for external relations Aaron Leetch.
The NTSB and the FAA are investigating.

Why: The plane is believed to have originated in Maryland, and to have refueled at Orange airport.
The plane went down in a wooded area about a mile to the north of the airport, at the end of Winter Street. The plane did not impact any houses. The residential community came together to attempt a rescue, but the two aboard were confirmed dead.

Why: A Norwegian student and an instructor crashed into the Atlantic Ocean, just north of Canaveral National Seashore, near Bethune Beach in New Smyrna Beach, Florida in a leased Cessna Skyhawk, at about 6:30 pm. The plane was seen falling into the ocean 20 miles from the airport, 200 yards from the beach. The aircraft submerged before rescuers could reach the craft, and pieces of it are in the water.

Who: Arthur Parker and (approx) ten year old son
Why: When something “popped” on the plane and he could not turn and started losing altitude, Arthur Parker did the only thing he could, and landed in the Mount Pleasant marsh. He and his son walked out on the wing and waded through the marsh, then walked to a local house. Police officers met them, but Parker declined police and medical assistance.
Now his biggest problem is how to retrieve his plane from the marsh…

Spirit Airlines flight NK-265 encountered severe turbulence near Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on December 5th.
The Airbus A321-200 plane flying from Atlantic City, New Jersey, was descending toward Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport when it hit turbulence that injured one passenger and three crew members.
The plane continued for a safe landing.
