    Where: field near Railroad Street and Auto Center Drive near the Corona Municipal Airport
    When: Dec 17, 2009
    Who: pilot
    Why: While en route, the plane developed engine problems.

    The pilot made an emergency landing and flipped over after touchdown. He was able to extricate himself on his own, and was ported to Riverside Community Hospital with a broken nose and other injuries.

    Lufthansa CityLine Flight Returns to Munich due to Landing Gear Issue

    Lufthansa CityLine flight LH-2130 had to return and make an emergency landing in Munich, Germany, on August 8th.

    The plane took off for Dresden, Germany, but had to turn back after the crew failed to retract the landing gear.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Plane Missing over Borneo

    When: August 24, 2012
    Who: 4 aboard
    Why: A Cessna that had been chartered by Elliott Geophysics International took off from Temindung Airport is missing. Four people (three Indonesians and an Australian) were on the flight which was going to survey a Bontang coal mine. A search and rescue team has been deployed

    Cessna Crashes in Iowa City

    What: Cessna 150 owned by Jet Air Inc
    Where: Crashed on to Edingale Drive, Iowa City near Iowa City Municipal Airport
    When: Oct. 6, 2008
    Who: James N. Meade, 64, of Iowa City
    Why: The FAA’s preliminary report points to engine failure as a possible cause. After the crash where the plane ended up nose down in the street, Meade was taken to University Hospital.

    This is the second crash within the month on Iowa City streets, in fact less than a mile from the June 3 crash on Sunset Street and Willow Creek Court that killed a 2-year-old girl, injured the pilot and one passenger and one passenger Sydney Blanton–died.

    Bek Air Plane Lands without Landing Gear in Kazakhstan

    Bek AirBek Air flight Z9-2041 had to make an emergency landing at Astana International Airport, Astana, Kazakhstan, on March 27.

    The Fokker 100, en-route from Kzyl-Orda to Astana, was on approach to the runway when the crew detected failure of the landing gear and went around for about 50 minutes before prompting the plane to land without the gear.

    The plane received substantial damage.

    All people onboard remained safe.

    The incident is under investigation.

    Blue Air Plane Returns to Romania after Abnormal Landing Gear Indication

    blue airBlue Air flight 0B-9361 returned and made a safe emergency landing at Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport, Otopeni, Romania, on July 2nd.

    The Boeing 737-800, en-route to Antalya, Turkey, was climbing out of Bucharest when the crew reported an abnormal landing gear indication, prompting the plane to return.

    The plane landed safely. All people onboard remained unharmed.

    The passengers were accommodated in a replacement plane.
