    Cathay PacificCathay Pacific flight CX-883 encountered hydraulic leak problem, after landing at Hong Kong International Airport, Hong Kong, China, on July 13th.

    The Boeing 777-300 from Los Angeles, California, to Hong Kong had just landed when the captain observed that it was emitting smoke underneath the fuselage and reported a possible hydraulic leak.

    Azul Linhas Aereas Plane Returns to Brazil after Vulture Strike

    Azul Linhas Aereas flight had to return and make an emergency landing at Viracopos International Airport, São Paulo, Brazil, on May 4th.

    The Embraer ERJ-195, flying to Brasilia, Brazil, had to return after a vulture hit the captain’s windshield.

    The aircraft received substantial damage.

    The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers after 1:45 hour delay.

    Delta Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing after Engine Failure

    250px-Delta_logo.svgDelta Airlines flight DL-2668 made an emergency landing at John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, on November 10th.

    The Boeing 717-200 plane heading from LaGuardia Airport, New York, to Boston, Massachusetts, was diverted after the crew reported an engine failure.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All 97 people aboard remained safe.

    The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

    FAA Airworthiness Directive Regarding Boeing 787-8

    All Boeing 787 Dreamliners currently in service are being required to confirm that fuel line connectors have been properly installed. Fuel leaks in Dreamliners were traced to a manufacturing flaw at Boeing plants.

    The FAA said “A safety order mandated inspection of fuel line couplings in the engine pylons to verify the couplings are correctly assembled and installed”

    What: Daallo/Astraeus Boeing 757-200 en route from Paris to Djibouti
    Where: Athens
    When: Sep 17th 2009
    Who: 80 passengers and crew
    Why: When the oil pressure in engine 2 dropped, the flight diverted to Athens where it landed safely. Passengers debarked and were provided alternative transportation

    American Airlines Plane Diverts to Virginia due to Flaps Problem

    American EagleAmerican Airlines flight AA-2293 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Washington Dulles International Airport, Dulles, Virginia, on May 7th.

    The Boeing 737-800, en-route from Texas, to District of Columbia, was preparing to land at Ronald Reagan Airport when the crew reported problems with its flaps, prompting it to divert.

    The plane landed successfully.

    All people onboard remained unharmed.
