    Air FranceAir France flight AF-852 had to return and make an emergency landing at Charles de Gaulle Airport, France, on September 25th.

    The plane was heading from Paris Orly Airport in Paray-Vieille-Poste, France, to Cayenne, French Guiana, when the crew reported that left engine had suffered a compressor stall and decided to divert.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.

    Buddha Air Plane Makes Emergency Landing due to Engine Problem

    buddha airBuddha Air flight U4-952 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Biratnagar, Nepal, on April 8th.

    The plane, flying from Bhadrapur to Kathmandu, Nepal, was diverted after the crew reported a technical glitch in the left hand engine.

    The plane landed safely. There were 68 passengers and 4 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained unhurt.

    Why: After takeoff on this flight, an Albanian passenger got up and tried to exit the plane. It took 5 passengers and crew to subdue him. The pilots returned the plane to Charlotte where the disruptive Albanian-speaking passenger was taken into custody by police and removed to a hospital for observation.

    Was he suicidal? Confused? Destructive? In despair? Incontinent? We may never know.

    Swift Air Flight Returns to Miami due to Engine Problem

    Swift Air flight WQ-1997 returned to Miami, Florida, on June 9th.

    The Boeing 767-300 plane took off for Caracas, Venezuela, but had to turn back due to an engine issue.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
