    JetBlue Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Fort Lauderdale

    JetBlue flight B6-517 had to return and make an emergency landing in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on May 13th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane took off for Mexico City, Mexico, but had to turn back due to the failure of weather radar.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Brussels Airlines Plane Returns to Belgium due to Engine Issue

    BrusselsBrussels Airlines flight SN-3201 had to return and make an emergency landing at Brussels Airport, Zaventem, Belgium, on November 4.

    The Airbus A319-100, en-route to Venice, Italy, had to return due to some issue with one of its engines. The crew had to shut the engine down mid-air.

    The plane landed safely.

    All 124 people aboard remained safe.

    What: Emirates Airlines Airbus A340-500 en route from Cape Town to Dubai
    Where: Capetown
    When: Jan 4 2012 1.55pm
    Who: 243 passengers
    Why: After takeoff, the gear did not retract and (as was observed) the gear doors remained open. We presume the pilots did a fly-by that was the source of the visual conformation of the issue at hand.

    An hour and a half after takeoff, with emergency crews on standby, the pilots landed back in Capetown (3.20pm), and was towed.

    Passengers were provided hotel accommodations. The replacement flight was scheduled for Jan 5, 2012.

    Blue Air Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Romania

    A Blue Air flight made an emergency landing in Constanta, Romania, on January 20th.

    The plane heading from Larnaca, Cyprus, to Bucharest, Romania, was diverted due to an issue with the wing flaps.

    The plane landed safely. All one hundred and nine people aboard remained unharmed.

    Lufthansa CityLine Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Frankfurt

    Lufthansa CityLine flight LH-1007 made an emergency landing in Frankfurt, Germany, on September 2nd.

    The plane flying from Brussels, Belgium, was descending toward Frankfurt when the crew reported light smoke onboard.

    The plane continued for a safe landing. All seventy-three people aboard remained unharmed.

    Eastern Airways Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Aberdeen

    Eastern AirwaysEastern Airways flight T3 588 made an emergency landing at Aberdeen Airport in Scotland, on May 11.

    According to an airline spokesperson, “On approach to Aberdeen, the captain of flight T3 588 from Durham Tees Valley received a cockpit warning indication relating to the smoke detector system in the toilet… The Saab 2000 aircraft with 26 passengers and four crew landed safely at 9.28pm… After landing, passengers disembarked via the aircraft steps on the runway as the airport fire service inspected the aircraft.”

    No one was injured in the incident.
