What: American Airlines Boeing 757-200 en route from Miami to New York
Where: New York
When: Feb 17th 2012
Why: On approach to New York, the plane developed problems with the left engine and pilots shut down the engine.
They made a safe landing with emergency services on stand-by.
Caribbean Airlines flight BW-527 had to return and make an emergency landing at John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, on October 8th.
The Boeing 737-800 plane took off for Georgetown, Guyana, but had to turn back due to a flaps problem.
The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
Jetairfly flight TB-705 had to return and make an emergency landing at Brussels Airport, Brussels, Belgium, on May 1st.
The Boeing 787-800, en-route to Cancun, Mexico, had to return shortly after the crew reported some problem with its gear. It later turned out that there was a flap retraction issue.
The plane landed uneventfully. All passengers aboard remained unharmed.
The passengers were accommodated in a replacement plane.

When: Saturday Morning
Who: Two individuals on board were injured.
Why: The plane had trouble gaining altitude shortly after takeoff. It then crashed into some trees off the runway around 8:30 a.m
SEATTLE, Feb. 23, 2011 – Boeing [NYSE: BA] is pleased that Turkish Airlines has reinforced its trust in the Next-Generation 737 program by announcing its intention to exercise options for additional Boeing 737s. Boeing looks forward to finalizing the contractual details of Turkish Airlines’ selection.
Hong Kong Airlines flight HX-6704 had to return and make an emergency landing in Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia, on May 7th.
The Airbus A330-200, heading to Hong Kong, China, had to turn back after severe turbulence injured 17 people onboard.
The plane landed uneventfully. Twelve of the injured were taken to hospital while the others were treated at the airport.
United Airlines flight UA-1 had to return and make an emergency landing in San Francisco, California, on August 23rd.
The Boeing 787-900 plane took off for Singapore but had to turn back due to multiple bird strikes.
The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
