    What: United Airlines Boeing 757-200 en route from Denver to San Francisco
    Where: Salt Lake City
    When: 02/18/2010
    Who: 193 passengers and 6 crew
    Why: While en route from Denver to San Francisco, a flight attendant found a note that was evaluated to be a bomb threat. The flight diverted to Salt lake City where passengers disembarked on to the tarmac. No trace of a bomb was found in the search.

    Compass Airlines Plane Diverts to Tucson due to Unruly Passenger

    compassA Compass Airlines flight had to divert and make an emergency landing at Tucson International Airport, Arizona, on June 22nd.

    The plane, heading from San Antonio, Texas, to Los Angeles, California, was diverted after a male passenger made a threat to the crew.

    The plane, carrying 80 passengers, landed uneventfully. The man was escorted out of the aircraft.

    IndiGo Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Kolkata

    IndiGo flight 6E345 made an emergency landing in Kolkata, India, on June 24th.

    The plane took off for Bangalore, India, but had to turn back due to a cracked windshield.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing at RDU Airport

    American Airlines flight 3356 made an emergency landing at Raleigh–Durham International Airport, North Carolina, on April 26th.

    The plane was coming from Dallas, Texas, when an indicator light went off, prompting the crew to declare an emergency.

    The plane landed safely. All ten passengers and three crew members remained unharmed.

    Using Cell Phones in Planes May Endanger the Flight

    According to Dave Carson of Boeing it just takes a stray cell phone signal “in the right place at the right time” to create serious technological havoc in the cockpit, and older planes are more susceptible to interference.

    Germanwings Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Berlin

    Germanwings flight 4U-8061 made an emergency landing in Berlin, Germany, on January 26th.

    The Airbus A319-100 plane flying from Nuremberg, Germany, was on approach to Berlin when the crew reported an issue with flaps and aborted approach.

    The plane landed uneventfully on second approach. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
