    Smoke in 737 Cockpit; Pilots divert to Tulsa. (updated)

    On January 21, 2012, a Southwest Airlines 737 with 76 passengers and five crew aboard was en route from Kansas to Houston when it developed smoke in the cockpit.

    Pilots diverted to Tulsa and made a safe landing (but probably hard and fast since reportedly three tires blew) with emergency services on standby at about 9:15 a.m.. No injuries were reported. Passengers were provided alternative transport to Houston.

    The plane has been removed from service and will be inspected in Tulsa.

    Southwest Airlines Flight Returns to Nashville After Bird Strike

    Southwest Airlines flight WN-577 had to return and make an emergency landing in Nashville, Tennessee, on April 18th.

    The Boeing 737-700 plane took off for Phoenix, Arizona, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a bird strike.

    The plane landed safely. All seventy people aboard remained unharmed.

    United Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing due to Flaps Problem

    United Airlines flight UA-710 had to make an emergency landing in Denver, Colorado, on February 20th.

    The plane was flying from San Francisco, California, when the crew reported an issue with the flaps and requested an emergency landing.

    The plane landed safely. No injuries were reported.

    The plane flying from Las Vegas, Nevada, was on final approach when it experienced hydraulic issues.

    The crew went around to work the checklists and landed safely on second approach.

    There were 127 people aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.

    UTairUTair Aviation flight UT-247 had to return and make a safe landing at Vnukovo International Airport, Moscow, Russia, on March 20.

    The Boeing 737-800, flying from Moscow to Surgut, Russia, was mid-air when the crew reported emergency alarm signalling engine vibration, prompting the plane to return.

    The plane landed safely.

    All 112 people on board remained unharmed.

    ASLASL Airlines Belgium flight 3V-587 made an emergency landing in, Malta, on August 24th.

    The cargo plane was flying from Tunis, Tunisia, when the crew reported issues with the nose gear.

    The plane landed safely. There were 2 crew members aboard at the time; both of them remained unharmed.
