    What: Wizzair Airbus A320-200 en route from Bucharest Romania to Milan Italy
    Where: Bucharest
    When: Nov 30th 2011
    Who: 157 passengers
    Why: We haven’t heard about falling parts in a while.

    The airbus was en route over Bucharest when an engine access panel fell off.

    Oops.

    The pilots returned to the airport within twenty minutes. I wonder where the access panel ended up. Who forgot to fasten it? Inquiring minds want to know these things. There’s more to this story than what we’ve seen.

    Asiana Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Seoul

    Asiana Airlines flight OZ-204 had to return and make an emergency landing in Seoul, South Korea, on July 8th.

    The Airbus A350-900 plane took off for Los Angeles, California, but had to turn back after the crew received indication of abnormal tire pressure.

    The plane landed safely. All three hundred and seven people aboard remained unharmed.

    Homebuilt Crash in Torrance

    What: TOLAND S/THORNBURGH J TWIN 503SL Glider owned by SURE FLIGHT INC
    Where: Torrance Airport
    When: 02/27/2009
    Who: Two men were injured in the crash
    Why: The homebuilt “experimental class”ultralight was taxiing on a ramp at Torrance Airport when it clipped a parked aircraft and went airborne up to approximately 100 feet; the flight crashed off the runway fatally injuring at least one passenger.

    Small Plane Crash-Lands in South Australia; No Injuries Reported

    A light plane crash-landed at Parafield Airport in South Australia, on January 2.

    It is believed that the plane landed on its belly due to a problem with its front wheel.

    The pilot, who was the only one aboard, remained uninjured.

    The plane was damaged.

    Airbus Navigation Fault Sends Jet Back to Dublin

    What: Aer Lingus Airbus A330-300 en route from Dublin to New York
    Where: Shannon
    When: Jan 11th 2010
    Who: not available
    Why: While en route, just over the Atlantic, the flight developed a navigation problem. The crew turned the Airbus around and returned to Dublin where they made a safe landing. Repairs were made or maintenance was completed, apparently; and a little over an hour and a half later, the same plane re-embarked to New York.
