    American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Flaps Problem

    American AirlinesAmerican Airlines flight AA-1427 made an emergency landing in Atlanta, Georgia, on May 11th.

    The Boeing 737-800, flying from Dallas Ft. Worth International Airport, Texas, was on final approach when the crew reported that the flaps are not moving from 25 to 30 degrees.

    The pilot initiated a go around and 15 minutes later landed safely. No injuries were reported.

    What: Mexicana Airbus A318-100 en route from Cancun to Mexico City
    Where: Cancun
    When: Jan 19th 2010
    Who: 45 passengers
    Why: On takeoff, the left engine cowling separated, impacting the engine, wing and the rear fuselage. The flight crew returned the plane to the airport for a safe landing.
    No injuries were reported.

    Xiamen Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing in China

    Xiamen Airlines flight MF-8106 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Nanchang, China, on February 17.

    The Boeing 787-800 was heading from Beijing to Xiamen, China, when an oil indication prompted the crew to to shut down the right hand engine and divert for an emergency landing.

    The plane landed safely. No injuries were reported.

    Air Tahiti Plane Makes Emergency Landing in French Polynesia

    air tahitiAir Tahiti flight VT-933 made an emergency landing in Papeete, French Polynesia, on June 5th.

    The plane was flying from Tubuai, French Polynesia, when the crew received an overheat indication for one of the engines and needed to shut it down.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.

    Spirit Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Newark

    Spirit Airlines flight NK-779 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Newark, New Jersey, on March 20th.

    The Airbus A321-200 plane heading from LaGuardia Airport, New York, to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was diverted after the crew noticed an odor on-board.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

    Novair Flight Makes Emergency Landing on Suspicion of Flat Tire

    NOVAIRA Novair flight en-route to Chania on Greek island of Crete made an emergency landing at Gardermoen airport in Oslo, Norway, on the night of August 31.

    The crew suspected flat tire after taking off and decided to divert for emergency landing. The Airbus A321 circled around the airport for 3 hours to shed extra fuel before it safely landed. No one was injured.

    Most of the 191 passengers on board were Norwegian citizens.

    The passengers were provided an alternate flight on the morning of September 1.
