Why: When the pilot told Air Traffic Control that both engines had failed, the plane disappeared from radar, six miles from Kenneth Copeland Airport. The wreckage was found in a field near County Road 4227 and Currie Road.The plane lost a wing and sustained nose damage.
The two severely injured passengers were airlifted to John Peter Smith Hospital and Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital.

Odds are against a twin engine plane losing both its engines at one time. The pilot here must have done some kind of fancy flying (by fancy I mean seriously good flying by the seat of his pants) to have gotten everyone out of this (so far) alive. We hope the two severely injured men in the hospital recover completely (and the other two men as well.)

Why: According to interviews by the airport director, immediately after an uneventful takeoff, the jet flew through a flock of geese. Passengers heard an engine combust, and smelled something burning. The flight landed safely within thirty minutes, and apparently passengers clapped on landing.It has been three years since Rochester’s last reported bird strike.
Shuttle America Flight Diverts to Nashville
A Shuttle America/United Embraer ERJ-170 en route from Austin,TX to Newark,NJ developed a spoiler problem.
Pilots diverted to Nashville where they made a safe landing. None of the 67 passengers or 4 crew sustained injury. Passengers were provided a later flight.

Why: On March 29, 2001, about 1901:57 mountain standard time, a Gulfstream III, N303GA, owned by Airbourne Charter, Inc., and operated by Avjet Corporation of Burbank, California, crashed while on final approach to runway 15 at Aspen-Pitkin County Airport (ASE), Aspen, Colorado. The charter flight had departed Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) about 1711 with 2 pilots, 1 flight attendant, and 15 passengers. The airplane crashed into sloping terrain about 2,400 feet short of the runway threshold. Aeromexico Connect Flight Makes Emergency Landing after Snake was Spotted On Board
Aeromexico Connect flight AM-231 had to make an emergency landing in Mexico City, Mexico, on November 6th.The Embraer ERJ-190 plane was flying from Torreon, Mexico, when a snake was spotted in the cabin, prompting the crew to declare an emergency.
The plane landed uneventfully. All passengers and crew members remained safe.
The incident is being investigated.
