TUI Airways flight BY-643 made an emergency landing in Chania, Greece, on January 29th.The Boeing 737-8 MAX plane heading from Hurghada, Egypt, to Manchester, England, was diverted due to an engine problem.
The plane landed safely. All one hundred and forty-seven passengers aboard remained unharmed.

Damage is slight, reportedly to the wing. Consequently, the return flight was cancelled.

Air Canada Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Ottawa
Air Canada flight AC8953 operated by Jazz Aviation made an emergency landing at Macdonald-Cartier International Airport in Ottawa, Canada, at around 6:30 a.m. ET on August 13.Pilots made an emergency landing after smoke was discovered in the cabin of the plane which was heading from Fredericton, New Brunswick to Toronto.
The flight with 69 passengers and 4 crew members on board landed safely according to Ottawa Airport Authority.
Air Canada spokesperson Debra Williams said, “Passengers were moved by ground transportation into the terminal and were booked on alternate flights to their destination. We apologize to our passengers for this incident and inconvenience.”
Air Canada engineers will inspect the plane to determine the cause of the smoke.

American Airlines Regional Jet Makes Emergency Landing at Norfolk International Airport
American Airlines flight 3749 made an emergency landing at Norfolk International Airport in Virginia, on March 15th.The plane took off from LaGaurdia Airport, New York, and was heading to Norfolk when the crew reported smoke in the cockpit and declared emergency.
The plane landed safely. All 26 passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
The incident is being investigated.

Why: On approach to Trelew, an electrical problem caused the cabin to fill with smoke. After the safe landing, passengers debarked via slides. One flight attendant was treated for smoke inhalation.
