Why: While en route, a windshield developed cracks. The pilots returned to the airport of origin. Passengers were booked onto alternative flights when the plane went to maintenance for repairs.

What: JetBlue Embraer 190 en route from Charlotte, N.C., to Boston
Where: Boston
When: Nov 17, 2010, 9 a.m.
Who: 25 passengers
Why: While en route, the plane developed a problem with the flaps. After declaring an emergency, the pilot made it safely to Logan, landing without flaps.

American Airlines flight AA-2083 made an emergency landing in Montgomery, Alabama, on February 12th.
The Airbus A319-100 plane heading from Charleston, South Carolina, to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Texas, was diverted due to an engine problem.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

What: MTM Helicopters SCHWEIZER 269C-1 ROTORCRAFT
Where: Auburn-Lewiston Municipal Airport.
When: 10/08/2009
Who: Pilot Tim O’Leary and passenger
Why: Just after lifting off, the pilot lost control of the chopper, aborting a sight-seeing flight. The flight spun out and landed in the grass. No injuries were reported; however the helicopter sustained “substantial” damage. O’Leary is a former U.S. Army helicopter pilot.

What: Expressjet Embraer ERJ-145 en route from Cleveland to Montreal
Where: Montreal
When: Feb 21 2010
Why: On the final approach to Montreal, the plane developed a flap problem, causing the crew to abort the landing. They nailed the second attempt however about a quarter of an hour later.
Singapore Airlines flight SQ-37 had to return and make an emergency landing in Los Angeles, California, on November 3rd.
The Airbus A350-900 plane took off for Singapore but had to turn back due to an issue with engine oil indications.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
Air India flight AI-498 made an emergency landing in Udaipur, India, on June 16th.
The Airbus A319-100 plane heading from Rajkot to Delhi, India, was diverted due to loss of cabin pressure.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
