What: Singapore Airlines Airbus A380-800 en route from Paris to Singapore
Where: Krakow

Who: 444 passengers,
Why: A couple of hours into the flight, Galley power failed. Electrical loss impacted more than the galley. The flight returned to Paris for a safe landing, and the announcement was made that passengers were at no time in danger.
Air India flight AI 973 had to return and make an emergency landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, India, on October 4.
The Airbus A319 took off for Muscat but had to return shortly afterwards after the pilot reported a hydraulic leak.
The plane landed safely. There were 80 passengers aboard at the time; all of them remained unhurt.
The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.
What: Delta Boeing 757 en route from Atlanta to Seattle
Where: Great Falls International Airport
When: October 23, 2011, 12:30 pm
Who: 177 passengers, 1 emergency
Why: While en route, a passenger aboard flight 129 became unconscious.
The pilots diverted to Great Falls where they made an emergency landing, and delivered the passenger to an ambulance which took her to Benefits Health System, facilitated by the Montana Air National Guard Fire Department.
The flight took off again, promptly.

What: Continental Airlines/Colgan Air Saab 340B en route from Houston to Shreveport
Where: Lufkin Texas
When: May 17th 2010
Why: While en route, the flight encountered turbulence. One injured passenger remained aboard until a safe landing at Shreveport.
What: Saudi Arabian Airlines Airbus A300-600 en route from Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) to Khartoum
Where: Khartoum
When: Jul 7th 2009
Who: 310 passengers and 16 crew
Why: On approach, the crew reported problems with the braking system. The plane swerved while landing but no injuries or damage was reported.

Where: Sultan Hasanuddin airport in Makassar
When: 5 pm Jul 18th 2009
Who: 132 passengers 6 crew members
Why: The plane made an emergency landing because of a “crack on the glass of its cockpit window,” according to information released by Lion Air.

What: Delta/Chautauqua Embraer ERJ-145 en route from Boston,MA to Columbus,OH
Where: Boston
When: Jan 2nd 2010
Who: 38 passengers and 4 crew
Why: Right after takeoff, the plane developed smoke in the cabin. Oxygen masks were deployed, and the plane returned to the airport to land on the runway, and taxi to the gate.
