    Sao Paulo Plane crash: 3 or 4 fatalities

    What: Single engine Embraer Tupi plane ( EN-RYC)en route from Sao Jose dos Campos to Sao Jose do Rio Preto
    Where: southeast of Brazil in the municipality of Santa Isabel, in southeastern Sao Paulo
    When: between 9:45 and 11:45 on the Sept 21
    Who: 3 possibly 4 passengers: two adults and a child
    Why: The plane went missing for three hours and there was difficulty finding it because rain hampered search efforts. The local fire department which located the missing plane found the remains of the 3 passengers “carbonized” in aa forest near the Pouso Alegre Peak. They say the plane exploded. Local residents saw a flash.

    Terror Halts Arkefly Flight

    What: Arkefly Boeing 767 Amsterdam to Aruba
    Where: Shannon Airport in Ireland
    When: 1030 GMT
    Who: 231 passengers (?) 11 crew
    Why: While over the Atlantic, the pilot asked to divert to Shannon, when a passenger began making threats, and acting aggressively. The Arkefly Boeing made a safe emergency landing at Shannon Airport, and stranding passengers there.

    The security alert was concerning a 44 year old Dutchman who was traveling alone went from being unruly to making bomb threats. After being taken off the plane, the man has been in official custody, held at Shannon Garda station and arrested under the Air Navigation and Transport Act. The plane was towed to a secure remote location for a police search.

    A replacement flight was provided by Arkefly.

    Delta/Skywest Emergency Landing in Grand Junction

    What: Delta/ Skywest Airlines Canadair CRJ-900 en route from Salt Lake City,UT to Houston,TX
    Where: Grand Junction
    When: Oct 28th 2009
    Who: 68 passengers
    Why: Thirty minutes after takeoff, cabin pressure dropped and oxygen masks were deployed. The crew decided to divert to Grand Junction where they landed safely.

    Passenger Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Ukraine

    A passenger plane had to make an emergency landing at Boryspil International Airport, Ukraine, on July 11th.

    The plane heading from Kiev, Ukraine, to Antalya, Turkey, was diverted due to a bird strike.

    There were one hundred and seventy-four passengers and six crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

    The flight was being operated by tour company JoinUp.

    Fire Alarm Delays Ryan Air Liverpool-Morocco Flight

    What: Ryan Air en route from Merseyside to Agadir, Morroco
    Where: Liverpool John Lennon Airport
    When: Jan 4 2010
    Who: 115 passengers and six crew
    Why: After takeoff, the plane indicated a fire aboard. The pilot turned around and landed at Liverpool John Lennon Airport while all activity was suspended. Passengers were moved from the plane as quickly as possible; no fire was found. The fire indicator light was judged to be faulty. A replacement jet was provided for the passengers.

    Lufthansa Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Munich

    Lufthansa flight LH-2135 made an emergency landing in Munich, Germany, on January 21st.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane flying from Muenster, Germany, was on final approach to Munich when the crew reported a strong acid odor in the cockpit.

    The plane continued for a safe landing. All passengers and crew members remained safe.
